Picked up two gyps from a guy today from working cow dog lines .. said he had worked them on pigs since pups.. my question is you guys think it may b harder to break them off cows because of there blood line ?? Showed them a pig today and both r almost straight catch .. haven't showed them cows yet lol kinda scared to ..

You should be ok, keep em on hogs consistantly and try to avoid places with cattle until they are 9-10months or until they are solid on pigs then pop on the shock collars and find you a cow pasture lol. I would just try to concentrate em on hogs until they are goin good then worry about cow breaking.

I had a bmc from cowdog line ...he loved to bay cattle. If they've been on lots of pigs and understand there job is to hunt pigs then maybe it's time to introduce them and make sparks fly out there a$$. Better to be in control and teach them than be hunting and not ready for it.
