might be because most of the "parker" curs werent parker curs........ Everyone says that they are rough as hell so maybe thats why.

I had 2 of them less than a yr old that were bad azz and they died from parvo i was sick to my stomach. Then owned another that i had for a little while and kevin lost a litter to parvo and i had the only one that made it so out of being nice i gave her to him, and she is still around but Kevin had the hardest hunting dog i ever seen in his parker female and he gave her to kevin in oklahoma so she could have more country to hunt, she was that good. And i have talked to others that owned them and either died of old age or killed by a hog or they just quit hunting to outcross breed cause they wwere that good. Yea they are a little rougher dog but i dont think they are any worse than a bmc or cat. They do tend to catch on ALOT faster than most cur dogs so by a yr old and less they are finding hogs and usually if they make it past the first yr they will be ok, but they tend to wanna get in there and getemsome when they are young. From what i have seen, however by outcrossin like Des has it is getting the best of both worlds, the hunting drive, and little less rougness and more nose.

I was kind of wondering the same thing. Larry breeds dogs often and sells a lot of dogs, yet you rarely see one. Where do they all go? If the guys that bought them liked them that well, seems they would get another and breed them together to keep that line going for them.....just my thoughts. I knew a guy in Ga that bought a male pup, turned out to be a typical Parker dog....wide hunting dog that would find hogs but a little hard to handle. He bought a female pup from Larry to go with him and she didn't turn out . I don't care WHO it is, no one has a line of dogs where ALL the pups make top dogs, so not saying anything bad about the Parker dogs, just curious if more people have had experiences like that and we only hear about the ones that made good dogs?

Circle C,
I got my hands on a yr. old male that was out of some early NKC reg. litters. The guy I got him from was a long time friend and coon hunting rival of Larry's named Bib Register. I showed the dog a 250+ sow for the first time and he really got in her face and mixed it up. I walked him into a couple of bays after that and he did the catching for me. Dog was stolen from me before I had a chance to get anything done with him. To answer your question of why you dont hear much about them is I believe that most homes they go to are folks that hunt for food and dont know how to use a computer.

fella's this is parker ....95 % of the people that get dogs from me don't post on the computer .... most are people that have gotten dogs from me before ......and if anyone gets a dog or pup from me and says it would not bark at a hog ask why they did not bring it back i guarantee the dogs and i ( LOVE ) to buy dogs back ....especially after they have been raised up to about 9 months old ....i have not raised one here that has refused to bay a hog .......i have killed a few i didn't like ....... got one now that will bay but humps anything that comes by him .....the other evening i had him tied to the fence and he just would not keep his mind on the hog he was crazy wanting to top another dog ......i told my son catch him by the back leggs and i am gonna change his mind for him ..... if this don't work he is gonna leave here out the back gate .....but he will bay a hog ....... there's lots of good dogs out there that doesn't have anything to do with mine ....... from line breeding i do have a real consistant line of dogs ...... i don't try to breed for dogs to catch 10 or so hogs a day ..... i try to breed for a dog that you can find baying a hog when all the rest is back at the truck ........

Welcome Parker
Hope you stick around and post up some.
Would like to try one of your dogs some day as they seem to be the type of dog I like from what I hear, just to darn far away to get my hands on one.

Larry Parkers dogs are the real deal. They hunt deep and hard. They will outdo most curs and hounds. They are great stop dogs and great strike dogs. They are faster than most dogs. He has bred a natural ability to roll out and go hunting. You guys should help him keep his pure line going. He cannot produce enough. If I ever get my hands on any more they will not be for sale. Larry lives to hunt and is a good person. There is nothing better than hunting in louisiana with larry parker and those parker curs. With boudin, cracklin, crawfish and all that good cajun food what else do you need.

Well I am one of the fellows that bought some 3/4 parker pups from R. Eddings in Texas and we bought some started dogs from a guy in LA. that are 3/4 parker that were hunted at Larry this week and my buddy seems to be real happy with these dogs i will be hunting them here in Ga. I have talked to Larry on the phone he is a great guy to talk with about dogs I have always heard great things about his dogs I do not own a full parker dog on my yard yet but hope to in the near future. But right now we have the closest thing. Larry I sure wish I could have made the trip with Forrest and Brock maybe i'll make it there one day. They said ya'll got on a rough one I told you they were bad look! HAHA!! By the way this is Clint over in Ga.

I have a couple my old gyp is back at Larrys he is using her for a brood gyp her name is Snookie then I have a pup that is bred to his male and my snookie gyp . My best 2 dogs are out of my snookie gyp and my big yellow dog we call Batson that is from Dewayne Hart ( he isnt a Hart dog) both of my full blooded dogs started young and hunt hard little gyp is less than a year and will really mix it so have high hopes if she is as good as her mom will make a nother good brood gyp . M 2 good dogs are not the best but will go hunt with anyone and dont have to worry about hanging my head out of shame .
