This young dog (JJ) is making a good hog dog...he was given to me because he is too rough...His grand sire on the top side was one of the last males I bred that I gave away to another friend back in 2006...The grand sire was named Chango and he was about as gritty as a bay dog comes and a sure enough go out and find one...Changos dam was a go getter as well...Changos sire was my main stud dog so JJ has some good stuff flowing thru his veins on the top side...

JJ's dam is out of some old dogs I started out with that were good hog dogs as well so he has a lot of what I like in him...I might change his name to Yeller if he earns that right...

below is JJ...

The next pic is JJ with his littermate sister who is a go yonder find something to run right now kind of pup and she has no quit...kind of like Changos mama named FLy...she is in the back ground...

All, thanks for the nice comments on my new dog...the pics are when he was younger...he looks pretty good now that he has gotten older and more than likely he will need a running vest...

my old line of dogs came from tree dogs but I only looked for hog dog pups...but most mtn cur that tree and run a coon will run and bay a hog...I have an older kemmer female that throws good pups that I would give you now but my brother asked for her a couple weeks ago...However, if I get a pup that wants to tree and I don't need the pup I will PM you...This female comes from tree dogs and she was a coon dog until I showed her a pig...kemmers will usually throw brindle pups when bred out side the kemmer line...but the white trim will probably have to come from the stud dog because most of the dogs in her back ground don't have white trim...lets see what my brother does...he only has a couple more weeks to come and get her...after that she will be gone to you if you want her...

sounds good . i'll have to work up some trading material . the injun blood in me won't let me take something for nothing . lol  my futer goal and what i'm working on before i'm gone,  is to have a line of leapord spotted,  slobber mouth tree dogs . the dogs i have now tree well but , not as hard as i would like . i was thinking on getting a 1/2 mnt. cur 1/2 walker dog to breed into the line wich i am still working on . there are a bunch around but quite a distance from here . anyway that would still run me 50/50 hound to cur ratio wich is what a treeing cur is supposed to be . they are registering them 3/4 1/4 on either side but that is not the percentage of a true treeing cur by our predisessers .

thanks for the thought and i am in no hurry when it somes to looking for dogs  lol

good things come to those who wait  .

                                                                                                                                    have a good one

                                                                                                                                                            Robert W.

hell i don't know  lol  the curs handle so much better than most hounds . and kinda remain semi-open when trailing . and after having these ol cur dogs around i like em. and having hounds all my life i like them too . so instead of having some of each i figured i'd just roll em all up in one ball  lol  . plus the fact i like these ol leapord colored dogs , i got me a ukc registered leapord [ cur ] hound from mike rodgers on here . she's gonna make a good coon and squirrel dog . and hell i'm getting too broken down to wrastle hogs but the treeing curs will run and bay hogs with the best of em . that is basically all i hunt now just want them to tree a little harder to give me more options on what i can teach em to do . and then there's the money thang . the cur and fiest coon and squirrel compatitions are paying PRETTY GOOD MONEY  lol iffin you can breed some dogs to win with .
