Yes I have hunted from several different climbing stands. If I hadn't! I would try it out. I love slipping in last minute. The deer or hogs never know what hit em if you climb in the right spot. I actually feel safer in my climber than in a ladder stand. Guess its because the rail goes all the way around. Not sure why really but i like it.

Im originally from north Alabama where we had tall trees with straight trunks. Moved out here west of fort worth where the biggest tree aint much more than a bush and i miss the heck out of being able to use my climber. That thing is like a recliner.

that's all I've used for years. I wouldn't use anything else, except they can be noisy. Find a nice straight tree and you can get thirty ft up or more. It seems like you are above the lower wind current that high up. I go to sleep in mine and its nice especially when waiting for shooting light. or if setting all day.Advice: NEVER HURRY WHILE CLIMBING OR DESCENDING. TAKE YOUR TIME IF AN ACCIDENT HAPPENS THIS WILL BE THE TIME. ALSO DON'T REACH TO HIGH WHILE CLIMBING!!!!!!!!!! I had the bottom drop from under me at 23 ft up a couple years ago. It was tied top to bottom but I had the string on the front. get two strings and tie the sections together on the sides. I had my bottom section drop and hang be cause the string caught when i reached to low while descending. it didn't hook because the string was holding it straight up. i was up to my armpits when it went and used all my energy trying to get the bottom hooked with my toes. I was hanging unable to slide down the tree because the deck was below me at a weird angle. I couldn't make a planned jump for the same reason. I was losing my strength and about to turn loose when i some how hooked the tree with my legs and grabbed with my arms and only the lord Jesus whose name I was screaming knows how i climbed around the back side of a slick tree at 285 fat saturated lbs.and slid down. I guarantee if you take chances in one you will get hurt bad! Please take my advice use em hard but use em safe!

also no question they are the most comfortable stand out there. It is more"comfortable than a recliner". I can sit in mine all day with a book.

jagdtank, my stand did the same, but i was about 30ft up when the bottom fell. thats a pain to climb down huggin the tree and the top of the stand. i did the same by tying top n bottom together. depending on which style climber you get, it can be like a recliner, but watch it, you get to comfy ya might fall out of the tree. if there were trees straight enough here is central tx, i would use a climber all the time, but its scrub brush with some narly branched tree, so a ladder stand is more suitable. climbers all the way if possible.

I use a tree lounge and love it just be careful. In my opinion its the safest one on the market. Always use a safety harness. Don't get comfortable and think you won't need it,its not worth the risk.

No question about it. Always always use a safety harness. They actually make one now that will lower you slowly invade of a fall.

I built the first one that I had, most guys did that back then......there just weren't many companies that made them, plus we couldn't buy one anyway. Used them all the years that I deer hunted a lot,.....great tool if you have trees for it. Only thing I hated about them was carrying one,....I hate to have to carry anything to the woods. I had an API and still do, good stand and not that heavy, but still a pain to me.

I've got a summit something now but instead of foot straps it has those cursed plastic hooks. I wont get one with those again because i cant keep them tight and they loosen up all the time. I guess it dont matter if you got it tied together on both sides near the tree.I tell you they do work well and are very safe just dont bend the rules. I am a roofer and have really good balance and have wanted to get higher and had a limb in the way i couldn't cut and have unhooked both top and bottom while in the air. Sounds crazy but you will be tempted. Don't do it! Then all will be well. accidents only happen if someone does something stupid.

I hunted 95% of the time out of my summit viper for the last 5yrs until some dbag stole it last season!. Plan on buying anotherthis season. The summits are super comfortable and super safe if you use em the right way. Ive killed a buncha deer and hogs out of mine.

I've hunted outta quite a few. I go about as high as I can, but I hunt long leaf pine timber and it could be 40 ft to the nearest limb.  I don't always go that high, but when you do, you can see the world.

I like the ol man net seat, but the summit is a great stand.  You can't go wrong with either one in my opinion.

I got a summit viper ss I'll sell you whenever you get ready. It's a nice climber, I just don't have any need for it and it's taken up space. If your interested I'll text you some
Pictures and you can just name a fair price.

I have an ol man climbing stand and a API grand slam. If you want to sleep the API is more comfortable to me.  I like to climb high where the deer can't smell me as good and i can see forever. Always tie them together and where a safety belt. My dad is 350 and slid down a oak one time because he lost his bottom section. He looked bad and dug bark out of his arms and gut for quite sometime. He is lucky he didn't fall and hurt himself, I guess the man up above was looking out for him Smiley
