mine is 3 querters dogo and 1 querters pit

Then you don't have a Dogo..  Wink

You have a watered down pit!!  Cheesy

It may turn out to be a good catch dog regardless, good luck with it..

I have very little experience with them but I will share it and give my perspective on them.  I hunted behind a very nice female, that a buddy of mine had. She had a nice build, good size but not too big, and caught very well on the hand full of hogs I saw her on.  Its worth mentioning that she was a young gyp at the time.  What impressed me the most about her was how easy she handled.  Much better than anything I've ever seen from a Pit.  She was very easy to lead, and quiet.  No huffing and puffing and heavy panting even in warm weather.  That gyp ended up changing hands to a member of this board I think it was mattaggie and from what I gather made a heck of a nice solid catch dog.

If I were to own a catch dog I would not care what breed, but It would have to be one that was easy handling like she was, because I will not tolerate a hammer headed dog pulling on the lead.  Not to mention I would just as soon not listen to heavy panting every time it gets over 70 degrees.  A big downside to me with dogos, is the price they fetch.  I would never pay that for a catch dog even If I had millions in he bank.  But If someone were to give me a free one that handled well, then I'm all in. Grin  I won't hold my breath.

trent, either way on who the comment was intended for. the only input dirtydog chimed in on was to bash someone of possible buttkissing before knowing anything else but what he assumed.

I have nothing against them, they're beautiful dogs, and folks that have em seem very happy and that's all that matters.....but I personally wouldn't feel the need to aquire one, as my American Bulldog does an amazing job for me, and has the size advantage when I need/want it as opposed to my APBT's.
