That's what I said why do people care what other people think about them as long as they are not hurting people or pushing their feelings on others

What's wrong with being raciest
Your asking whats wrong with being racist? S? in any aspect, we are all racist in some form or fashion at times. look at 9/11. kevin, how did you feel towards the muzlims that supposedly crashed them planes in the trade towers? look at the Nam vets, how did they feel about the asians, and the vets of WWII and korean war, and what about our vets of the gulf war and this current war towards the muzlims. I can tell you i hate my VA doc being muzlim and trying to treat me when i cant even understand him. I will say though, I am an eual oppertunity racist. i hate folks in all races

Charles, I was in the military 88-92 Regular Army, C Co. 1/75. Got out right before Gulf War. Did participate in Panama/Noriega thing, first wave. Didnt hate Panamanians, don't now but did my job. Don't dislike Muslims, do hate Terrorist. I kinda feel the same way RL does I guess. I don't place anyone in a category, they put themselves there.

RL, i too find that if a black person calls another black person the N bomb, it is offencive and its more offencive when ANY other race calls them that, its racist. I once ask why it was ok and the answer was, " its a sign of affection". how is it calling some1 of the same race a degrogatory word an affectionate remark? but its offencive if some other race calls them that. RL it was sent to me by some1 and in all honesty, it is 100% the truth. how can a race get mad at 1 race when that race's own tribes/family sold them into bondage to better theirselves? the only people that have any rights to be disgruntled is the american indians, when the white came throw and raped, murdered and plundered the tibes and then killed off their food sources and then said " here is your little peice of land tht is 1/10th of the land you used to have" that rite there is very highly offencive to me. I agree...

Charles, that is not racism. That is just normal. If we dislike someone because of their actions, inaction, etc. and that dislike is not based on their heritage ... it is not racism.

I see it as a double standard. There is nothing wrong with being proud of your race/ethnicity , but when you start degrading another race and it you begin to classify other races as inferior than it goes from pride to hate. Be proud of who/what you are but don't hate people that aren't.

I call racism racism and don't hold back. Right is right and if it ain't right it is wrong. I volunteer at my son's school. Come up and help out sometime and you will see the me and my son are the clear minority. My son gets picked on because his dad is a redneck. The comments are said right to my face sometimes. Then I ask them if I have ever been anything but polite and nice to them. For the most part everyone is nice to me there. But I don't understand why they can make racist remarks all day long when we are the clear minority there. I make it clear that I don't like rude people of any race.
But when they say something I ask if the color was changed would it be racist? I ask very politely and with due respect. I have had many conversations on the subject. I have never had a problem because I do not take it personal or make it personal. But even they admit that it is racist. I was even asked to join a black group in college because I respectfully discuss things like this. Any rational person can see that it is wrong. I believe that change is made one person at a time.
"Nobody cares how much you know, until they know how much you care." Theodore Roosevelt
First you have to let people know that you care about them and how they feel. Then you can have a conversation that has mutual respect and both people can learn about how the other person thinks and feels. That is how you change the world one person at a time. You will run into the crazy closed minded people of every race and belief. But caring about them as a person can reach even some of them.

Like all generalization, this one is untrue. You have to look at the intent. If "whites" gather to demand separatism or to denigrate other races ... then it would fall into the klan category. If they gather for non-race purposes ... then it wouldn't. There is a difference in promoting your culture and denigrating another.

Charles, As an answer to your first post I think the the old statement of " The squeaky wheel gets the grease" fits. I like to judge a person by his or her behavior not their race. But working in a state prison system I see racism daily. And I guess to an extent understand it. My biggest problem for myself is my lack of faith in humanity in general. Very few nowdays will stand up for what is right because its so easy to follow the masses.
