Ok me and my friend were dove hunting and shot a dove and as soon as I pick it up I notice a pretty big bump on the breasted meat area. And this is one of the smaller doves we shot. Anyone I go to skin it and beside the breasted meat sticking out is a yellow lump. Almost looks like cheese about the size of a quarter it was not a liquid kind of like a ball of soft clay i guess.... We had no idea what it was we kind of freaked out and we chunked the doves meat and all afraid of what the yellow stuff was. So any ideas of what it could of been.
thanks it will help me sleep better if I knew what it was lol.

We always called those bump wolves??? Thats what my old uncle used to call it. I have seen that on rabbits, coons, deer and birds... He told me it was from some sort of worm that got in there in the hot months. He used to say only kill to eat during months with a R in them. But i think it is hotter now in september and october than it used to be.... Heck idonno but if i see them the meat goes to the yotes out back
