Good looking dogs, kinda off subject but got a question. What do you guys expect out of your dogs when a bay breaks and how long do you allow them to make mistakes before you decide you have had enough. Lately been getting on a good number of hogs, bay breaks and they seem to loose the hog my dogs are still relatively young or inexperienced. But this is really getting irritating

Oh no peaches I sure hate to bust you bubble. Matter of fact you might want to sit down for this. The Bob tell dog you got ancestors was a yeller dog.  She was a yeller Bob tail dog. Donnie had her. She was breed to I think tig and produced a brindle male named rascal bobed tailed. Sorry man I know all those genetics. Then the single best dog I ever seen come off murry hill was a bitch named pretty. SHE WAS YEllER.lol  The bitch that Jesse Paul had that started his line was out of a dog called Tom that came from wade Robinson  wade got Tom from Tom whimphery. Witch is where Winchester came from witch was brindle.  Peachy hope I did not give you a heart attack over this but fact checker is here.lol  The brindle dog Bryant has goes back to a dog called festis that was red.just saying......

The dogs on my yard hold a big percentage of a bitch named pudding she was yeller her litter mate was brindle her daddy was a brindle dog name Pete witch his dad was a black dog named Bart witch was out of Lewis wooddruffs black dog named HR. I would like to get some of those old pictures and scan them. If you keep the yeller ones the other color genetic start to fall off. If you keep the brindle ones then yellers fall off.

I was really trying to get at is its not that far back. My dogs two generations back was nothing but black dogs and brindle dogs. My yard is full of yeller dogs. There is yeller in those east Texas dogs. Thats was my point.

Mike there was a name that don't never get mentioned. I have a strong feeling that it is where most of these easttexas dogs come from. The man was a  big hounds man that used his dogs an every way. His name was William MCclerrer if spelled that right. He was between coldsprings and New Waverly.

Well if they did come from spotted dogs, either no one is mentioning it or doesn't want to admit it!!!  Grin

So far its been good brindles coming from yellers or the other way around plus some hound here and there...
But hey that's fine!!

Idk mike. I had heard Festis was old. Like 12+ maybe. Blaster is 9 and was born in 2003. He was one of CB's last litters that I personally know of...

My guess is CB died somewhere around 2004 maybe. I'll ask big e, he might know exactly when

Yeah I think my visits with yellowblackmask , cward, and the cow dog trials made my koolaid pretty strong!!

I guess I'll put my 2 ETC colored mutts on here...

Do a little research and you will find out mikes tweety dog was straight catahoula. Twittlebanks Wink i only got to hunt with her in her last years but even in her old crippled  state  she was better than any yeller dog i have seen to date.
