A friend of mine is having a beaver problem around his tank. The suckers are cutting trees down left and right. He has been trying steel traps but is having no luck. What are some tricks to bait a beaver. He never sees the beavers so he cant shoot them. Thx

My uncle had the same issue. They were coming from creek at night and cutting trees by pond. It was about 40 yards from creek to pond. I just hunted them like deer. Found spot they were crossing... Set up blind... Hunted at night with full moon... It worked...killed a big one... May have just been lucky but it worked.

Only luck I've had is at night, catching them crossing from point A to B. Gun & Light.

Find their slides and put a snare in it.  Also if there is any low water there will be a channel they are traveling you can put a snare in.

The government trapper takes care of them for us here,he sets about 20 traps ata time and wipes out a lot of them. I would have your friend contact the local trapper, its a free service.

Lol one night my dad and I were bowfishing and he thought he saw a big fish close to the bank. Well he splung  an arrow at it and the water start boiling and splashing everywhere and a beaver ran out of the water with the arrow in its but. U would of thought the drag wasn't set on the reel because it was screaming. Most exciting part of the night

As a youngster I drove many a mile to catch beaver....its kind of like hog hunting...I still like to hunt them but I don't lose any sleep over it if it don't happen...that discipline comes with maturity...  Grin
