Alright this isn't a which is best etc. Just lookin for a little input to see if my way of analysing this makes sense to anyone but me. I've seen a lot of people that feed just regular old olroy or Walmart dog chow to their dogs even some old timer deer dog guys and they seem to hold weight really well or even get a little on the heavy side. I've been feeding Victor 24/20,sportsmix 26/18, diamond high energy, was feeding valu Pac 24/20. All seemed to do good on most of the dogs for a while the victor and sportsmix were the best imo but that got hard to get and I didn't like swapping them every week cause the feedstore was out of x... Currently I'm feeding diamond hi energy and now my dogs are starting to #2 alot. Which seems to me like they just aren't absorbing the feed. Taking more to hold their weight etc I've hit em with wormers pro bios etc... Still seems like no change and just more expensive food and still not much weight gain. My question is even tho the feeds are loaded with good protein and fat if they aren't absorbing it what is the point.  Could these lower end feeds do good by the dogs even if they are lower protein/fat if the dogs are able to digest them more efficiently. Just wondering what adverse affects if any you have experienced if anyone else has already taken this road or thought of this before. Thanks Brandon

get a feed and stick with it . every time you switch brands it takes the dogs a while to get acustumed to it . some dogs is just easy keepers and can survive on bout nothing at all . i wouldn't feed ol roy to a poodle since sam walton died . he kept that feed good when he was around because he fed it to his dog . i used to feed it back in the day and liked it , but not now . but like said find a good feed and stick to it and if you just have to change do it gradually . hell dogs used to live on cornmeal mush and a little suet now and then .

I didn't swap em all a lot just got tired of trying to time it when the feed store had em in stock I really liked the sportsmix but they hardly ever had it in stock. Same with the victor they had it for a while then seemed to not be able to keep it in stock. The valu Pac was good for a while I'm talking several months then they started going #2 like crazy so I went with the diamond hi energy cause I've heard good things about it same thing couple months then they started going all over again. So im guessing I have to switch again they done started smelling it up bad quick was fine then couple days later boom runny an everywhere not just one of em all 10

Try one of Purina's better feeds. They are usually available anywhere, always in stock.
