"The Republic of Texas" is an intriguing thought. A WHOLE LOT of details would have to be worked out. We would immediately lose - the Army, Airforce, Marines, Coast Guard, FBI, DEA, Air Traffic Control, All federal departments (Agriculture, Health, Transportation, Highway, etc.). Man, there are so many others. Social Security and Health care are a biggie. What happens to all the old folk and disabled who rely solely on those programs? Where does Mamaw go when a family does good just to support itself? Could Texas manage the task? It's over my head to understand but I think if we could and do, it's still a long ways off. Wouldn't we have to develop or base infrastructures first? That could take years. What happens in the mean time? A paramilitary government maybe? That would have to be the case I would think. Man, lots of details.

U r very right noah. We do need proffecionals, but we dont need thieves. Romney made a career as a thief, ooops, i ment politician. Oh they r both in the same. Honestly though, why not elect a proffesor of politics from some big college, instead of a career political figure. Atleast the proffesor possibly has some formal knowledge real work

Oh, another thing.... And it's sad to say because I've lived in Texas 39 out of my 43 years so that's where I'm seeing it most, obviously. There are so many young guys that have no interest in joining the Military. We would have to have a MAJOR push for recruiting. Maybe even a draft don't you think? Charles?

Kevin, u bring up some extremely good points, but i would giv up my disability in a heart beat to see texas its own country. With all the military bases there are scattered from the gulf up to the candaian line, the feds couldnt keep them and im sure there are current or recently seperated service members that would sign up for a new gov militia n the same manufactures that currently sell to the us gov, would sell to the new formed texas gov just as they do to forgien militaries. Instead of a new tx, it should b a newly formed us. Why do we need the fbi, dea, atf n them other alphabet gov orgs? I do agree that there should be a mandatory service just to become a citizen, if they choose not to, then send them packing n then strenghten our border security and make illegal crossing a strong punishment, ie: a consentration in the far north similar to the camps in siberia during wwII n make it a labor camp.

I think the military would fill itself with the new management and new found hope. I think financially we would be slow but within a year or so we would be one of the wealthiest nations with all of the industry, refineries, drilling and having the mouth of the mighty Mississippi. Problem is we would be subject to attacks right off the bat unless the democratic states of America offered protection until the south has a stable and strong military.
My local news station posted about the petition on facebook. They are giving the Louisiana petition the attention it needs to fill up fast. I looked down in the 250+ comments and the gubment is doing exactly as it wanted. 50% of the comments say it is a bad idea and they want their freedom... Kind of contradictory if you ask me. Then 49% are scared... Saying the people who sign are the ones Feds will watch closer and some are saying those who sign will be in camps hahaha. Of that 99%, 100% of them say Louisiana is dumb Nd they would move out... See ya! The other 1% say that it is a good idea but for some reason the petition is steadily getting signatures.

kevin, in order to generate money, opposite of the current dea regs for drugs, the newly formed country could legalize waky-tobacco, taxing it just as with alcohol and regular tobacco. a lot of the things that could generate money are outlawed by our benevalent communistic gov. agreed that some should not be allowed, but no matter what, its gonna be grown, manufactured, distributed and sold. why not legalize it and put the money into the country.

Charles, like it or not, successful BUSINESS is what ENABLES a people to create/sustain a government to thereby protect it's interests... and allow a people the LUXURY of arguing about it's intricacies.... taking the initiative to procure these "workhorses" and direct them in the interest of the people would be extremely advantageous to the cause.
As for being put in the "camp" for signing such a petition... the motherF#CKERS better bring thier A GAME when they come.

I'd move to Texas if it was to happen but I don't think things are bad enough yet to make enough folks stand up. I'm only 37 but I understand where this country is going. It's sad. So many people have served and died for what we have. It pisses me off to see unmarried people with 5 kids and no desire to provide for them. Did I say it PISSES me off. No country can sustain this. I can barely afford one. Why should I pay for Shanequas' kids ? Why pay to jail drug dealers ? A bullet is much cheaper. These 2 issues cost our country a massive amount of money a year. It's a darn good thing I ain't king cause a lot of folks would be taken out of the gene pool. Sorry for the long rant.

So my question is....
Does anyone think this is feasible in our current situation and does anyone think there is even a remote possibilty of this happening in the not to distant future?

Feasibility is dictated by the NUMBERS presented in such a PETITION.... THIS IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO SEE WHERE WE STAND.

This country was built on hopes and dreams. What would it hurt to try? The worst that can be said is NO, n then we take their blood n our freedom.

Feasibility is dictated by the NUMBERS presented in such a PETITION.... THIS IS AN OPPORTUNITY TO SEE WHERE WE STAND. . X2 I agree with this we need to get the word out like social media tv and radio stations to let as many people know about these petitions as possible
