Well here are my pair of keepers out of the line cross with North Cedar Creek Ranch. So far so good with em. Haven't had alot of time to fool with my pair but they are baying cows through the fence already. Good sign...
But its gonna be a long road ahead. By the look they are gonna be horses with plenty of ground clearance.

All the littermates went back with mamma and are gonna be keeping Heith busy in a few months for sure.

Enjoy.

Keeping it ole school.

They dont get names till they get a tattoo in their ear and a freeze brand on their hip.

Till then just consider them on borrowed time.  Evil

Well finally got some time to play with the lil bandits.
Accomplished two scenario's today successfully and to my liking.
1. The bucket test.
2. The walk in and wait test.

explain the bucket test... Huh?

Bucket Test.

My version of a test for early detection of gameness in pups.

I allow my set of pups to get comfortable and then I kick the H@ll out of a bucket toward and past them.
Alot tuck tail and head for the house squalling like a tomcat. (Not what I like)
Some step forward toward the excitement and even give chase to it as it flies past em. (What I do like)

A pup that will not stand its ground toward an unknown in my opinion does not constitute having much of a future around here.

Have witnessed to many grown dogs that cower in the corner when faced with a threat.  These make delicious worm food.  Wink

Yep could probaly pull one off. Really simple. Just wait till they are relaxed and off guard and kick it direclty past them.

The lil gyp flinched but stood her ground and the male bristled up and lunged at it. Round two they both gave chase is what the picture was.

Typically the ones that head for the hills squalling will never have much backbone. Anyway that had been my experience and had held true for my program so far.
