No doubting their panoramic angles.  Lol

Thanks Myles it means a lot coming from you.  Also rest assured that they'll work as well as look good, otherwise the don't draw breath around here.  Heres a pic of a boar that good looking dog helped bay and catch just last night.  only about the fourth time he's been hunted

Haha. Didn't mean it to sound like that brotha.
One main reason I keep close tabs on you boys.  You have yet to post an ugly Yeller dog and 95% of the pics have reflected caught quarry or hearded livestock. That will pass the smell test on any given East Texas day.

No secret I have had little to no luck with the foundation dogs....but I do truly believe that a certain combo inside that line has yet to be discovered by myself that would fit my style. Hence the reason for the magnifying glass on your pack   Grin

Keep the updates coming Troy they are always welcomed.

Myles.

Myles

No offence taken mate. We judge them hard and will continue to do so. We are actually impressed that others are taking an interest in what we are doing. We work and hunt them as hard as we can given oher committments, like family.  We hope to have an opportunity over the next few years to get over there so you can show us how good your BMC's really are.

cheers

Troy,

If memory serves me right, you guys imported a pair a year or so ago from David Thoms.  Did you import some other dogs as well, as I have seen more that two dogs in the photos.  If so, what stock were they out of.  Just curious.

Bryant,

We imported 3 females from David Thoms and a male from Randy Wright.  One of Davids females was bred to his "trigger" male before leaving Texas.

We will need an outcross in the future but have plenty of dogs to play with at the moment.

cheers

I'm pretty sure that David Thoms sent one there last year.  But yes we would send one but you'd have to organise and pay the tramsport from Tamworth NSW.  We reccommend a company called jetpets.

cheers

Greg,

our shorter lighter pups out of Connie and Rose would be fine.  Drift tend to throw big pups that are great in open country but probably a bit large in Gorse and rubbish. They all have penty of natural hunt and they stop boars really really well.  Two of them have those big boars spinning round and around so fast they must get dizzy.  I will try and post some video showing what I mean this week.

cheers

Troy

The dog I asked about above I believe is your Crush dog?  If that's correct?
Couple questions if you would be kind enough to endulge me.

Who are the sire/dam to him Thoms or Wright bred?

One pic he looks to be closer in to the herd and pushing hard. Is he grittier than the rest?

If he is used on hogs?  What are the average hunt radiuses he maintains without being in fresh sign?

Nose....mainly track or wind?

Thanks brotha.

Crush was bred by Randy Wright, his parents are Wrights Cattlemaster and Wrights Driftin Cowgirl...

One pic he looks to be closer in to the herd and pushing hard. Is he grittier than the rest?

He's plenty gritty but I would guess that our Thoms bred male "Happy" is our grittiest.....he was hurt quite badly on a big hog boxing day last year and it took a couple of days for Baden to find him.  This scared the crap outta us given the amount of money we have invested in them...so we rested him off hogs for a while...nearly a year...until we new that Happy would be able to be a stud dog if Crush got killed... he wears a garmin alpha now and gets a correction when he catches...we do not want him to get killed

If he is used on hogs?  What are the average hunt radiuses he maintains without being in fresh sign?

He's mainly used on cattle (as above) he's had 3-4 decent pig hunts.  We mainly work him off the truck, he has a good tracking nose for the work that he's been given but not enough to tell how far he'll wind them.  We have kept four of his pups (I think) two older sons are working well.  My Crush - son (Randy) has a very good tracking nose.

Nose....mainly track or wind?  See above...

Thanks brotha.  No worries mate.....

Troy,

I love looking at your photos, reading your post and just love the countryside and your curs. It appears that you and Baden or very satisfied with this line of curs.
But can you tell us how you train them? Like do you start them at a certain age, use a scent drag, use a bay pen or set up mock hunts.
And are they easy or hard to train?
