Honestly depends on the dog and cross. It's an EXTREMELY popular cross in Georgia. Most have excellent nose, stamina and plenty of grit. Lotta them are too rough. Some will run hogs for hours, some wont. I think if there were more bird/bulls and less "yella" dogs in Texas y'all probably wouldn't have such a bad hog problem Wink

I have a gyp of that cross that I bred to a mnt cur. Damn good dogs, and the pups always turn out to good help dogs. Don't think I've seen one as a lead strike dog though.

My main dog is a bird/bull. Makes a lot of finished dogs look like started dogs.

Most of the standard bulldogs I've seen look like Birdbulls LOL! Fine boned, long faced,drop eared. Maybe they're on that birdbull program LOL!

lots of guys in Hawaii run dat cross. the ones I hunted with we're.  real rough and had great nose and could hunt all day  olny down fall was they tend 2 go far.  all in all a solid  cross tho  hope this helps

check out the true grit board. Lots of dogs look like bird/bulls, bullhounds, bullcurs and god knows what else.
