I have a blue lacy that I think would be a really good competition dog. He bays tight by himself and is super fast the only thing is if the hog starts to run he nips at it to get it to stop. He will not catch it, just nips it on the butt to make it stop and face him. Would this get him disqualified?

a good bay dog is supposed to do just what your dog does...grab the back end and make them turn around and face the dog...

I haven't been to a baying contest in years but back then it was a disqualification if the dog latched on for 5 seconds or more...

Thanks for the help everyone. And no he isn't for sale but we are planning to get a litter out of him with my blue lacy gyp in the next year
