We made a hunt this past Thursday with Nick and Mark Herridge and caught a couple of hogs. I was sick about having to discard a nice big fat sow that would have made a nice freezer hog. She had a big place in the middle of her back that as Josh Stokley suggested on our facebook page, looks like bigfoot took a big bite out of her.

Several different ideas have been discussed at to what may have happened to this sow. Including getting hung up in a fence, bullet wound, animal attack, and even Tbob having marked this hog as his own. Lol

The sow with the big wound in her back

The other hog we caught that day. The wierd thing about this hog is he didn't have any cutters, whetters, or any teeth at all that we could see after opening his mouth. If he were to bite someone, I don't think it would hurt at all. But I couldn't find anyone willing to test my theory.  Grin

This last Monday, we hunted with James's cousins son and his friends. We caught seven that day. We were too busy to take pics that day but we did manage to get a pic of the last, and biggest hog of the day. A boar that we caught down in the water. The dogs had him bayed up with his butt up against the creek bank which was about a 8 to 10 foot drop from the top of the bank. Our cd, Bullet ran in, over the top of the bank and dropped down on the boars head to catch him. LOl, crazy little pit.  Grin

Thank you. Those dogs are James's cousins dogs. They are young and just starting out but doing real good. The are bmc, cat, and pit. They are pretty gritty.  Grin

Mrs Dinah im think im leanin towards barb wire fence leading to infection on her back, cant think of any other easily explainable options, that is odd.

Now I done told y'all that sow was wearing the bare hands and flashlight brand and that toothless boar is mine too!!! The reason he's toothless is cuz I mix their corn with meth to keep them hogs stupid and addicted to my feeders! I hope y'all returned them both!

There was a big sow like that running around on our lease they called flag. She had been caught three times in a row a couple months ago. The first time she was caught the dogs pulled a big patch off and when it grew back the flap stayed there waving like a flag. Anyhow did that hog have a "flag"

Justin, I don't know if a barb wire fence could have done this to her. It's hard to see, but the spot was also deep. I was thinking maybe something attacked her, but there is no signs or any other marks on her. The only other thing we could come up with was maybe someone shot at her and grazzed her back. Hell we will never know...lol...

Travis, she didn't have a flag on her back. The wound on her back didn't look to old. Looked like it may have happen a week or so ago. She would have made a good meat hog, if it wasn't for that big chunck gone out of her back.

Just guessing, I would say she was pushing the 175 to 200 lbs mark. She would have made a good meat hog. She was rolling fat.
