How do you tell the age in years  of a mature Boar? Ive asked alot of people and nobody seems to know. lets hear it

  just google ageing wild boars and look at the texasboars site it usually comes up as the first look , he has the best description i've found  .

  yea wear is good on deer but on hogs certain molars come in at a certain age . the when fully matured the wear patter will increase the age , i haven't read or looked at it in years but if i remember from glancing at it a boar hog takes about 4or5 years to get all it's molars maybe 6 i would have to go and look it up again and read it  .

A Mexican guy who knew a lot about butchering animals told me the distance between each rib was an indication but I don't have a clue how he gauged it

Thanks for the info halfbreed..  Ive just been courious  how old the Boars are we catch..   Anyone know the life span of a wild boar hog??

I just read in the last bayed solid magazine that the average life span if a feral hog is 8-10 years...factoring in disease and vehicle collisions and such!!
