I sold a pup a couple of months ago to a man in South Dakota who uses Kemmers to hunt coyotes up there. He drove straight down, picked up the pup, and headed right back. I'm not sure how he uses the dogs, but apparently he is pretty good at it and loves his Kemmers for the job?

Never heard of Kemmer being used? And I love those Julys and Triggs but haveng been able to get my hands on some. Any of y'all know anyone with some? Also I've been wanting to get into this seriously any of y'all run just greyhounds? I think for coyotes I would just want greys and grey or stag crosses, just hunt off the mule or truck.

I think they use kemmers in a different way. They use them to bait them out not run them I think.

The kemmers are used as decoy dogs. You set up and call to try to get a coyote to howl. When the dogs hear the coyote howl they take off to it and get the coyote to chase them back to you so you can shoot.

I've heard of decoy dogs. Haha I thought he was using them to actually catch them! I wonder if you could teach greyhounds to go to a howl? Have yall heard of anyone do that?

Our started dogs bayed one up last year and when the rough dogs got there caught it. I heard a dog yelp like crazy so I let my cd loose... Few mins later the a$$ whippings were passed around! The yote was in some very fresh signs so we think it was just wrong place wrong time for the yote, hasn't happened again

Are you willing to sell them? I live on 400 acres in Kaufman about 250 acres of it is wide open pasture. I know you needed more than that to be successful. I have plenty of land owners that I'm in close contact with that wouldnt mind me running off some calf killers.

there is a kemmer breeder that raises his dogs just for coyote dogs...they call the dogs trained for this type of hunting "decoy" dogs...nevr seen it done but have read about it... This is how I envision how it is done...The hunter sets up in a good spot down wind from where the coyote is denned up and he sends the kemmer dog in to find the coyote...once he finds it he will bark at it and then run out towards the hunter and the coyote follows chasing the dog off of his turf...once out in the open the hunter shoots the coyote...

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog... A hunting dog is born not made...

Yeah Ive heard of decoy dogs and have a buddy that run them. Pretty fun to go hunting with until u get on some fast yotes and lose a couple dogs haha. I don't wanna do all the training or pay for a decoy dog when you can chase them and not get your dogs chased or killed. I liked the chase I went on more than the early morning sitting still in frost method waiting for coyotes to howl. Just more of an adrenaline rush.
