I was wondering how effective the leg flaps are on the cut vests? I ask because my dog got cut on her upper leg last hunt and was wondering if the leg flaps would have prevented it.. Also does it have an effect on the dogs movement? Any info would be appreciated.

I wont buy a vest without them. My last three vest had them, no movement restriction. A must for me.

i like the flaps my bulldog got cut on his leg and shoulder a couple times . instead of buying a new vest i just modified mine by adding flaps to it . an old pair of boot tops sewed and rivited on the leg holes did the trick . one boot was all it took just cut the top off it split it down the center and used each half per hole . never had a problem with him getting used to it .

X3 it's a must , my males vest has been repaired from hog flogging , my dog would not have a leg left , he catches the same way every time and takes it worse on the left leg flap ,I also think the lower jaw piece is a must ,the best you can afford , thanks to wild boar USA I have 2 cds 5 and 6 yrs old , before that was not to good , learnt the hard way on this one , you meet the right hog and your dog will need all the protection you can give him and still go see the local vet for twice the amount of the best vest money can buy to save his life , no vest is bullet proof with the right hog

I like the flaps on my vest but the only problem I have seen with them is my dog can't swim with them so if they are bayed in water I will wait for the pig to get on the bank

I like them its saved my bulldogs legs many times for been cut bad but we got on a pretty good boar last hunt and the boar ripped both of the leg flaps almost completely off. And it was causing my bulldog to trip and step all over the flaps and he almost got whooped good but lucky we were close him and could leg the hog fast

I like them but for different reasons. Just about every time I come up on a catch dog with flaps on the hog is chewing on them. It is my belief that they make the hog buck his head less as he focuses on what he has in his mouth.
They don’t need to be big and I personally like mine to stick out a little. When they get to looking like Swiss cheese my wife will just stitch new ones on.

I run the guardian vest from wild boar USA on my bulldog, which has the leg flaps and chin guard, and both have been cut with the dog being cut. Definately worth having IMO

my two males have custom fit vests from P&P and both have leg flaps and chin bibs. lots of cuts and nics in that part of the vest. tells me that it has saved my dogs from lots of injuries.

I just bought the bikini vest from wild boar, i had them add leg flaps. This is for my strike dog. Catahoula from Hired Hands Kennel. I run the Devastor with a chin flap added for the catch dog. You get good dogs you know the time you have invested. Its hard to replace the really reliable dogs you can depend on to get the job done. Sidney
