We caught a spotted boar a few nights ago around 125# and he had little to no cutters!! The next day my cousin and buddy caught a big boar around 225# in the same spot!! He was spotted as well and had no wetters and very small cutters! One of my friends suggested that this could be caused by domesticated blood mixed with these hogs causing the color and lack of teeth!! Just wondering yalls opinion and experience with big hogs with no cutters??

Most of the big hogs we catch have like you say little to no cutters, But on the other hand we catch a few older boar hogs that have broke theres out. Most will be as big as the tip of my ring finger so i asume they had some good ones in there day. Ive always wondered the same thing.

They can break them fighting but I think genetics has alot to do with it.

Domestic hog grow teeth no different than a wild one but because you do not want the sow to get hurt when they are very small we cut out the needle teeth. They will grow them back but domestic blood has nothing to do with but what they have to eat soil conditions and good nutrition and age. Just because it is a big hog does not mean it will have big teeth.

I wonder if it has something to do with the amount of sows in an are in comparison to boars. Kinda like if there are far more sows than boars it isn't necessary to fight over sows. Seems to me on places I've hunted the higher the total population the bigger the cutters. I could be completely wrong tho.
