I have a red bmc male about 60-65 lbs. I got him at 5 months old, he is about 2 1/2 now. I consider him a running catch dog. He will get out a little bit, but mostly waits by my side.  When the dogs bark he is full speed, full force and all catch.  He will run in quick and catch the ear every time.  He is my main catch dog and can hold a big one pretty good by himself.

HERE IS THE PROBLEM:  He has aggression toward my other dogs, and sometimes it gets real bad.
He will usually stand behind me and wait to hear the bark, but when the other dogs come near me he will growl.  And if the other dogs don't get away the growl will get more aggressive and he will move towards them.  Sometimes when my strike dog comes to check in with me, the bmc will just jump and attack him. And then i have a BAD dog fight to deal with.  I have whipped him for that behavior and it doesn't do any good.  I used a shock collar, it worked a little, but i felt like i was shocking him all night.

Would having him neutered help with the aggression?  Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions that i could try? I am open to anything.  PLEASE HELP!!! Thank you in advance for any advice.

I had the same problem not to long ago.  This is the advice that worked for me:  Dog Whisperer on National Geographic Channel.  I had my doubt about this guys techniques working on real hunting dogs, but it worked great.  He deals with dog aggressive dogs on nearly every episode, watch his techniques and do it exactly as he does and with enough repetition I might be the ticket for ya.   Good luck, dog fights are no fun.

If you have tired the shock collar and it didnt work then it is time to get rid of him give him away what ever but he is not worth getting your  main dogs hurt over and that what will end up happeing .  I will not own a dog like that to much trouble and you can never trust them .

I appreciate everyone's advice and opinion.  I think that i will have him neutered and see how he behaves after that.  hopefully it will help, but if he continues the aggression, he will have to go or other methods will have to be used. thanks!!

Dont use a shock collar. It will make matters worse.

I had a similar situationb a while back. Was told by a few people that cutting his nuts may or may not help very much. I got rid of one of the dogs(gave a way).

This may sound crazy but it worked,
I hunted with a guy in WA state years ago, ran walkers for bear, he had a young male coming into manhood thought he was big $hit. I saw that dog attack another dog twice, the man has more balls than me, but he broke em up, took the aggressive dog and threw him on his back, got on his chest started hollerin and making a bunch of noise while choking the dog out!! crazy right, I guess it was to show him he was the alpha dog!
He only had to do that twice and he said the dog quit that crap,

If your crazy enough to jump on top of a dog that just was fighting you might try it, lol have fun.

Dog whisperer on national geographic channell really works period, I have had the most extremely agressive red zone dogs playing with other dogs like puppies following his advice, you need to correct the action just before it happens. Getting him neutered will most likely do you no good, it only works if you do it before all ther hormones have developed, after hormones are developed (which is typically 9-18. or so) as soon as the dog recovers from surgery he,she will be the exact same way they were before. You have more patiance than I do - a rcd is not hard to replace.

Wink thats pretty much my method.  If he wants a fight, I give him one...If that doesn't work, he needs to be culled..

That advice sounds pretty much like my husbands methods. One day two of our dogs were going at it and he broke them up and gave the more aggresive one WHAT FOR and I Butted in (like a good wife does) and said... hey, they are just establishing who is the alpha dog. My hubands reply was " I'm the alpha dog, and I want all of my dogs to know it." We didn't have any more trouble out of either of them fighting any more.

the laying him down on his side and getting on top of him actually refers back to what the other guys are saying about the dog whisper... you have to take the time to lay him on his side and submit to the other dogs, cats, what ever he has to lay there and take what ever sniffing or occupying of his space then he will realize that he is no alpha and loose the aggression
