Are they the bay vest or catch vest? My catch vest from swamp dawg is 2 or 3 years old and has million nicks in the outside layer but never any passes through. I got some lighter weight bay vest that's got some passes through.

I like   P & P .   He makes them according to the dogs measurements. Custom, hand made , exceptional quality.

I run a swamp dawg bay vest. If I get another one it will have the extra Kevlar added. Mine has probly 3 pass thrus all near the tail of vest. Chest shoulders and ribs have cuts but no pass thru.

Bowie the outer covering on yours holding up? The guy I hunt with has one that's right at a year old, and I just finished patching up about 10 holes in the outer material. The outer leg flap material was torn up so bad that I had to cut them of, and completely replace the material, and sew them back on. Seems to be only the outside material that is tearing though, Kevlar and inside layer of nylon is holding up well. I was thinking it might be our wet/dry/wet/dry climate down here causing it to kinda dry rot and tear, not sure though

Other than the cut spots and the pass thrus at the rear of the vest where it's real loose its fine. Been running in lots of briars also. I don't leave my vest out. He wears it during the hunt and as soon as it comes off it goes in toolbox. If it gets a lot of blood on it I wash it but other than that it stays in the tool box till next time. The way I understand the sun exposure over a period of time will start to deteriorate cordura. I may be wrong but that is what I gather.

Thanks. His is the orange camo, and he is anal about cleaning it after every hunt. Not sure why its tearing so bad. Have to say though, they offered to repair it for free if he shipped it back, but with the time it would take to repair, he just gave it to me to patch up.

Thanks for y'all input. A buddy of mine said to get some strips off a rachet strap or belt of a tractor and sew it on myself. Anyone done this?

Wild boar USA is the only vest I'll buy from now on. I just got a new guardian and I really like it.
Its a lot more flexible then the other vests I have seen and  It doesn't slow my bulldog down at all. They have great customer service and super fast shipping. And they send a prayer with every shipment.
