Or don't freakin own them. Why is that such a hard concept?!?

I know I'm beating a dead horse here. I know that MOST of you take dang good care of your dogs, but to those of you who don't, shame on you. You ask them to hunt, sometimes to their death, but you won't even freakin feed them???

Hopefully the kid knows who I'm talking to. But if you feel the least bit guilty, or question your dogs weight then get a second opinion. I'm so mad right now if I wasn't hooked up to a trailer I'd be driving and whipping some butt then starving him for weeks on end.

No. I won't go into details unless I'm asked to by parties involved but I'm so mad I'm shaking.

I think your opening post is opposite. Most don't care for their animals.

It is expensive to care for multiple dogs .

All sad but true. I've bought a few simply because I felt bad for the dogs

Not just feeding them. Keep them vaccinated and wormed, and not just with ivomec which doesn't kill tapeworms. No reason to get upset with this post unless it made you feel guilty. The guys trying to get by with the least maintenance on their dogs are the ones making everyone look bad. If you can't afford to take care of your dogs then get rid of them and go hunting with someone else. I've noticed that it's usually the same ones that have to keep culling dogs that won't perform like they want that are caring for their dogs like they should.

X2 Charles.  Everyone that Ihunt with takes good care of their dogs.  Everyone on here that routinely posts' pics of their dogs on here always look just fine to me.  Im sure there are some that dont, but saying most dont care for their dogs is completely false.

I pulled up to a store one night and these boys were talking about hog huntin so I walk over and BS with em for a second and look at their dogs they were talking about getting out ran I couldn't keep my mouth shut long enough to walk off. They had a bluetick that had so many ticks behind her ear and under her neck it was unreal. Their dogs was skin and bones. Their catch dog was so skinny you could see its skull. I was pissed! I told em what I thought about it and if they woulda been of age I'd prolly went to jail for whipping their butts all over the parking lot!
I may not take care of my dogs the way some would but aint no doubt they are healthy and if they are sick or hurt they get the proper attention.

x 10.

I know those of us with extreme heat have to keep our dogs 'lean' when they're out there working, but there's a difference between LEAN and SKINNY. A lean dog will still have all of it's muscle mass, should have only a hint of hip if any showing, maybe 2 or 3 ribs shadows, and no spine usually. A skinny dog will have lack of muscle mass (because the body is breaking it down in a desperate attempt to nourish itself), and will be very boney.

There's plenty of folks that don't even hunt or work their dogs that can't take care of them properly. It's a shame. When you have a dog that will run itself into the ground hunting for you, the least we can do is feed and worm them properly.

If the shoe fits wear it.

I feel and everyone I know agrees is that most people have their dogs in poor shape. If that statement makes you want to throw a temper tantrum then .......
Feeding a dog less to keep it lean doesn't make sense. Feeding an active dog a balanced diet does. With the correct amount and being balanced the body will keep itself in check

I let my dogs eat most of what they catch but I never let them go without dog food either. I'll he happy to brag about and show off my dogs because I know I'm giving them everything they need and their performance shows. Just ask Tiny. She has seen my kennels and dogs in action.
