Have y'all seen some of the "dirty" or "smutty" ybmc pups thrown? Along with the "reverse". I'm talking about both parents and even farther down the line being pure yella "creme fawn" an throw some "dirty" yellas?

this is the color I'm talking about! She is full blood and the owners have had the line over 9 years. Not the perfect ybmc like money breeders want but I think she is very good looking still. Even better that the good genes have been so closely line bred for so long. She even throws revers from time to time:)

I had 3 pups out of a recent litter that were the "smutty" gun barrel blue color out of a solid line of yella dogs. Maybe hogdog05 or mr. stokley will post a recent pic of them.

Nice!! That's a good lookin pup man. Very cool coloring on him along with a good build. It's cool when the very recessive genes come out in pure bred dogs and u get these unique colors!

I just had a litter of pup out of my old harley gyp that is built like the dog is your first pic. She had 3 reveresed pups and one blue gray blue pup. She was the runt and I lost her. If I could post some pics I would. I was told its ole lines throwen old genes. And both parents have to carry the genes to throw it. The sire to this litter of pups is my swag dog from bobbyb.

The pup with the blue head goes to the Big Boy/ Blondie cross over 60 times and was a first cousin cross. Blue is a dilute of black and some of the early ancesters of the pup were black and black and tan.

I heard some good thing about that swag dog. Heard he throws some good pups too. If you bred two "reverse" BMC I bet there would be some sure nough dark colored dogs come out. But then u would have folks trying to say they are full blood and bs.

I like strange I sure wish bobby would have let me buy a cpl more of those pups from him. I made a cross with brians stew dog and my harley gyp. The only male I kept was called jigger and I lost him when he was 14 months old. He was something else. I had 2 pups come out of that litter that was cinnamon masked. There eyes were hazled colored. 2 female pups out of my swag x harley cross have hazle eyes and kinda cinnamon colore masks to. Wish I could keep them all.

The reverse and other color must just be that rare! You would this the reverse is a dominant color once a pup is born with it. Crazy how line breeding works.

I keep hearing about pure yellows, straight yellows and so on. They may be all yellow since you have had them, but look far enough back in any of them and you will find all kinds of colors, even spots. I was surprized at all the off colored dogs way back in my dogs. I have had some men older than me say they started with all the other colors and when they had a chance they got some good yellows and before long they all started comming yellow. Some of these mens names come up all the time when talking old pedigrees.

I dont know your line of dogs but what I do know is breeding .
One thing I can tell you about breeding dogs and families of dogs. You say your dog goes back 60 times to this dog are pair of dogs thats a lot. One thing I can tell you is these book worms can talk about genetics this and genetics that but what it all boils down to in a family of heavy bred dogs is if you start seeing a different color in some of your pups you can bet your bottom dollar that it is not because this color dominated this color are that color . It is because it is throwing back to some dog are dogs in your dogs heritage that was that color . Colors are odd colors just do not pop up out of the blue they pop up for a reason and that reason is , is because some were in that dogs heritage it was there before and most likely it is throwing back to that dog are those dogs .
There is no looking threw colored glasses when breeding family's of dogs if it pops up its there for a reason and if you want to find out you got to start looking it just don't pop up because some genetic guru says this dominated this are that color . The reason I know this is because we bred many many many dogs of heavy line bred family's and inbred families and every time if we looked hard nuff we found were it was coming from.
Also I can tell you another thing your knowledge of a dogs heritage only goes as far as you have with the breeding of that particular family of dogs after that it begins with the next mans that still alive and can tell ya and the next mans until there is no men left because of death and time and after that its all hear say and what history was wrote .
It all goes back to believing what your eyes tells you and not what someone else is trying to tell you .
If its there its there for a reason good are bad.

One other thing I might mention this is not uncommon it happens at times in a heavy heavy tightly straight bred family of dogs . The key to the deal is if it turns out are leads to a lot of dogs that have these marking are coloring not performing up to par as the should are they are inferior performance wise to the regular color dogs that produce them then,
The key is knowing what to do about it and what is causing it and how to get rid of it .
ON the flip side . If the dogs that are these colors are superior performance wise to the dogs of the natural color and to the dogs that produced them then,
The key now is knowing what to do to keep it, if you so desire !

its kinda like this when you decide what color dog you want say a yello dog you ask the man is it pure? oh hell yes pure as snow you find a nice male to breed to,same question oh hell yes pure as snow.you raise your first litter out of yello pure dogs 8 pups. 1yello 1red 2 saddle back and the rest brindle. well you get to digging deeper you find out the male has bulldog in him.look a little closer the female has plot in her way back. when it comes to honesty better know who your dealing with. lots of folks shure like money over honesty. but what i learnd after keeping these dogs color isnt every thing was a really great bunch of pups. still have 3 of them 1 is the best dog i will probly ever have.
