Why is it you can take such good care of good blooded pure bred dogs sometimes and they die all of a sudden but people can kick a stray out that never gets wormed or vaccinated or fed and the sun gun live for 5+ years!?! I've ha good luck with raising pups when they had their mama right there with em, but seems harder to raise em when u buy from someone else's yard.

mutts have a diversified gene pool and that makes them more resistant to worms and disease...that is what I read many years ago and I bought into that theory... Huh? Smiley

Training dogs is not about quantity, it's more about timing, the right situations, and proper guidance...After that it's up to the dog...

I believe it!! I have two pups that are bmcxcatxairdale and they have been the easiest pups to raise that I've ever had!! Hardly ever worm them and they look great and have plenty of muscle already at 9 months old. My pure bred dogs have to be wormed on a regular bases to keep them healthy. I also read that a few years back rueban. Just didn't know if anyone else had the same situation.

Yep only the strong survive and the one with the best immunity to disease is usually the strongest. All pure bred dogs regardless of breed tends to have some kind of health issues.

Maybe not but what we call a pure breed is gonna have less diversified genes than a mutt

Because most strays are worthless a good dog can get close to a road for just a second and get hit I believe you could take a worthless dog and tie it in the road and set there most the day watching people wreck their cars to miss it

Well I was saying pure bred as in long line of line breeding tht perticular breed. Instead of this and that crossed back and forth... As far a there being pure breds.. Wolves, dingos, coyotes ect. Are the only original purebreds.  Grin

Lol...so true. I had a female pit that just had pups about 2 yrs ago or so and my wife had let her out to do her business and she got hit in less than 5mins of beeing out the house while I was at work. I was really upset because I still had to come home and get her of the road. The good thing was that my brother had his dog that had puppies at the same time so she took them in and took good care of them like if they were her own. Their is sum mutts that run around and ppl always slow down and even go in the ditch just to miss them.
