whatever it takes to maintain them . usually just about a pound a day per dog in hard hunting and less when they get fat while layed up . 24/20 year round . some dogs may take a can and a half and some less than a can depending on the dogs metablizm

I feed a bowl (brown tub of butter size) every morning. Depending on how much i hunt them i may feed a lil extra or less. But a scoop each day none the less.

All the dogs sleep in kennels, and during the day 2 get put on runners, and i rotate each day. I do have to limit time my blueticks get on the runner because they run back and too all day and run all their weight off.

I feed 2 cottage cheese 24oz bowls a day to 3 of mine and they have stayed real good looking from end of summer till winter when they got fat. Then I went to 1 to 1.5 depending on how much we hunted trying to slim them down a little. Now all but 1 gets 1.5 and the last gets 1. That heifer is still fat. If I feed to much I have feed left in the bowls the next day.

I used to feed sportsmix in the blue or black bag but now feed diamond high energy...it is about the same from what I have seen...

as a rule the colder it gets the more feed they need to maintain weight...the harder they hunt the more feed they need...so hunting hard in the cold months the dogs will need more...

the warmer it gets the less they need...as the average temp rises the feed needs to be cut back accordingly...you can feed dog food with lower fat content in the summer or you can do as I do to save money...

I use 2 quart stainless dog food bowls and in the summer I feed about 1/2 a bowl and in the winter 2/3 to 3/4 bowl and up or down a little according to temperature and the weight of the dogs...no ribs showing but not fat...hunting hard the ribs might show some but the dogs are in hunting shape...
