I have a jam up ybmc male. He is very consistent. He is very rough also. My question is we all want the perfect hog dog, how long do normal bmc's stay with a running hog it seems like every hog I get on wants to leave the country?

That seems like a question with no right answer. Every mans deffinition of bottom is different and I refuse to feed a "normal" cur dog so i couldnt answer your question anyway Wink

Well my dog hunts 300 to 500 yards. He will only run one a mile or so with help he usually goes further. Just wondering if this is normal? He's found and caught many hogs for me not complaining at all

I think that's just another bloodline answer...all are different.

Agree with above posts.  Its all about the particular line.

My particular preference is on the low end....stick with a runner for an hour or two.  High end.......run em till they quit or the dog drops from a heart attack.  IT AIN'T JUST HOUNDS that can pull it off.

Both are very much achieveable with a good solid line YBMC.    But ya gotta keep the shovels sharp!
