Went out Bowfishing with a few buddy's, right aroun the corner of my house. Seen a bunch of small ones till this sucker came up an shot was landed. Brough him in close an put 2 more and was game over for him!  |

fried is pretty good but made into salmon patties, well gar patties, and that there is some good eating...but a 15 -20 pound gar tastes the best...

yep I used to watch folks just throw them on the banks . we would go and ask for them . we would all ways just strip the back straps out of them and use the meat like reuben said , fix them just like salmon patties . that's a nice one I used to hear them ol big ones roll in the sleugh at night while coon hunting the trinity bottoms used to be some monsters in their . south of dallas .
