I'm about to order a freeze brand in a month or so. All my dogs are colored, except the two Stag pups. My novice question is....would it be pointless to try and brand the white dogs? Forgive me if that's an ignorant question, but I had to ask. Is branding just not an option for white dogs? Thanks in advance.

I believe you just have to hold it on longer so that it scars over instead of just making the hair white

X4 on the above......BUT.........be carefule with the stags, they are very thin skinned especially being out of that hotblood gyp!! Holding that freeze too long can cause muscle burn and tighten up the skin and muscle causing them to have a shorter stride on that leg. I would skip that pair if I were you,im not touching mine. I did the big black hairy pup and it took 3 times as long as the curs to heal up and it did pull him a little tight across the area and he only had it for 13 seconds!!!!!! hate to think what longer would do to those pups.

10-4. Thanks for the input guys. At Rockin Roo: GOOD POINT. I think I'll find a tattoo gun for those two. Very good point. I shoulda known better that these guys are 3/4 Grey pretty much and how Greys have that paper skin. Guess that solves that problem, lol.
