2000$ wouldn't touch any of my good dogs. Are any of them worth that much money? No, not necessarily. But after the amount of time, effort, and money I've put into them, they are worth that to me. I'd rather give a good dog to a friend, than sell it anyways. You're best bet is buying a few pups and making your own dogs. The best part about doing it that way is that it truly teaches you the value of a good dog.

God gave you two ears and one mouth meaning you should listen twice as much as you talk.

If I liked a dog and I wanted it I would pay 2000 , I haven't done it as yet but have paid 50 , 200 , 500 , 1000 and 1450 by the time I got the dog to me , training is fine if you have the time , I bought a good dog finding hogs and two pups , 500 for the bay dog and 25 bucks a piece for the pups BMC , a cat and a bmc , redbone , cat. Mix , the pups are now five and both are finding hogs and have been on hundreds , it's only money or only a dog. All depends on what you want or what your willing to pay , how much time you got or how lazy you are , lots of variables. To me if I want something I will find a way to make it happen , you only live once and can't spend it in the ground and only Internet dogs are finished after a year , a woods dog takes time and the only way to teach one is multiple hogs on a normal basis , you can hunt for weeks but if you find no hogs What have you taught your pup , good spots teach dogs. , the best blood in the world will not learn to find hogs if not showed hogs , if all you see is deer he will more than likely have a deer problem. Pups just take too long in my opinion. Whos to say they'll turn out? Before you know it, you've put a couple hundred dollars in a dog that won't work...

i dont think 2000 is a bad deal for a good dog as long as you like the dog. you figure you get 2 pups and raise them to 4 years old which should be a dogs prime and only one is good the other is ok but its what you got you got 2000 in them and havent caught nearly as many hogs as you would have if you would of went on and just bought the finished dog that you like to begin with. but i dont think internet dogs is the way to buy one, 99% of the time a "good dog" wont never make it for sale on the internet it will be sold in about 30 min on the phone, someone from the area would buy the dog if it was any count because word of mouth about a dog travels fast. be very careful of internet dogs especially the finished ones.

I hate to say it but the dog trade business has gotten even worse. Since the beginning of time people have been ripped off on dogs but now dog peddlers have figured out that sometimes asking more for a dog will get it sold. The same POS they had listed last week for 1000 is now worth 1250? Or the price varies dependin on who is intrested.? Everybody knows somebody in their area that hunts and good dogs won't get from people like that. Not to say that 2 large bills wouldn't get you a good dog but shoot man a free dog that won't hunt for you is not good either. Good advise is buy local and shoot for a " started dog" from a local person that you know catches hogs. Jmo but a good sign that you are about to take a bath is throwing 2k down on a " finished dog" less than 5 yr old.The best advise I ever got and this goes for horses, dogs or whatever is don't let people know what u want to spend on something and don't overlook something you like just because it's cheaper. everybody loves a dog that shows a hog on the end of the track but with 2k invested you gotta love him even if he don't! LOL
