I cant get my photo bucket to work for some reason. I wanted to post a cool pic that a friend of ours took from his plane while flying somewhere near Ennis, La. yestarday. Its a black bear and her cub. Not something you see very often I would imagine. If someone can post it for me, I can email it to you.

Yea, that would be awesome. Hahaha, if I ever ran into a blackbear in the woods, I would think I saw bigfoot

Thats pretty cool right there! my great uncle lives just east of the atchafalya (sp?)  river basin and has taken pictures of a few at their local gun range!!!

Seems like in 2011 (i think it was) there were quite a few trailcam pics throughout west texas of black bears tearing up feeders, i don't know how much truth there was to it but people were saying that they were traveling further due to drought conditions...... We have to deal with hogs tearing up feeders, could you imagine dealing with bears?!?!?!?

Bears are real bad on feeders. Chew right thru them. Extremely intelligent animals. Hard to keep them from getting your feeder.

They have comeback from near extinction in the Atchafalaya Basin area. When the Cajuns arrived in South Louisiana, written accounts show they were quite plentiful. Here is an article that was in the local news.

Arkansas has a good bear population. North Arkansas especially. I've saw tracks but never a bear, I sure hope if my dogs ever get on one it will go up a tree in a hurry.

There suppose to be in Far East Texas as well. There was a bow hunting blog type site I use to frequent maybe 8-10 years ago. I was frequenting the site for information on food plots. The guy had a small lease and planted a 5 acre plott. He kept a running blog going from the planning phase of the plot till the end of the season. Anyway, it was a nice plot and he had deer coming in on a regular basis then right around rutt they quit coming....they disappeared for the rest of the season. He couldn't figure it out. After the season he did some serious scouting and found tracks....couldn't believe it so moved a trail cam and sure enough...a sow and cub. She had moved in and the deer moves out, lol.

yes the bears are coming up from mexico and new mexico.  the alpin area has had quite a few reports that made all the news channels . if we can keep the poachers off of them we may soon have bears in north east texas as well .  funny how game management works when hunters co-operate .
