Ok, the contractor im workin for now has lost the contract on ft hood. The contract on hood is splitting, main post and north ft hood are being takin over by dyncorp, a long time contractor to the US with over 40yrs of expeirence n service in the contracting world. Pay is a big choice for most of us working class feed the freeloader americans. The other company n its subsiderary up untill 2009, id nvr heard of is taking over the foriegn military service, which i work for. The anual pay for dyncorp is, contingent on a 40hr work week and succesfull security check  Embarrassed is $55,785.20. The anual pay for m1/m2 is $61,963 IF the $3hr benifits extra is NOT taxed, is NOT affected by unpaid sick days (we r starting 0 sic n vac days) AND if we opt out of their benifits and we keep the $3hr, if we opt out n loose the extra benifit payment will be almost equal to dyncorp's pay scale.
My delima is, when i was hired on, it was for crew chief position on the ICH47 F for the dutch (that was a yr ago n still no position). Im also tired of being a servent/maid to a foriegn military n government. I didnt hire on to clean the trash n puke out of the acft, i hired on to crew n maintain. With m1/m2 iv been promoted to a mech 2 position but still no room for advancement or to move up in the company.

Dyncorp International's pay for a mech1 is only $.07 more than m1's nech 2 pay, but with a mech 2 under dyncorp, almost $28hr plus world wide choices to move up and around and be able to globe hop a lil. After 3yrs of trying to get on, iv finaly got a chance with DI, plus im miserable at my current location and still no chance of going back to crewing even with m1.
I dont need benifits bc my wife is a da civi n we use her health care insurance so i wouldnt need the $3hr extra for benifits, but IF we got to keep it, it would put me makin that $3hr over dyncorp.
I know money cant buy happiness and im NOT happy where im at.
I know, I know, I know, be glad i got a job, especialy making $25-$30hr, which some folks dont make near half that but thanks to MY piss poor $ management while i was overseas, iv dug myself a deep hole, barely stayin afloat (ALL MY FAULT, no1 elses). If yaw were in my shoes, what would be yaws thoughts?Huh?
Oh by the way, iv heard from previous dyncorp employees, that DI is a PAIN in the a$$ to work for, but possibly worth it in the end if a person wants to be a company man n travel ANYwhere they say to go.
Thoughts and input please.
If ur just gonna say "atleast im working and not to be greedy", pls move on to another topic, i dont need ur advise.

Charles brother.....I think You already know what you WANT to do. It's probably in your best interest to discuss it with the wife as well, lol....if momma ain't happy nobody's happy, as they say.

Working to support your family is great....no matter the job, but....if you can be HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY and still do it.....shoot.....what's there to think about.

Im located at ft hood tx. Central tx area, where that islamic a$$hole major opened fire killing several soldiers under his command back in 08. The money aint the issue, like was said, happiness. DI is paying the least, but better chance for advancement. As far as makin the wife happy, uhhhh, she knows where the door is bit I will NOT ask her to give up her job again, i'll find somethn else to do or go back actoss the pond again, which thats my intentions anyways after i get my a&p mech license n that pay is $200,000 for a yr, but its 90 on 30 off so its 200k for only 9 mths n thats with DI too. Yaw r right, iv made my mind up n want to work for a bunch of american a-holes, not a maid to the pre-madonna dutch queers. I kinda like my job, like it enuf iv been doin it for 10yrs but these contracts can be 1yr to 10yrs long, just no telling who or how long a contractor will b here n if DI turns out to b the chit, if i wanna stay, i mite hav to roll the doors down in central tx n follow the company. Down side, im tired of moving, 7x in 10yrs.

I work for Petroleum Helicopters. We have bases all across the La. and Texas coast. They pay good and treat
employees well. Great benefits, 401K, sick leave, safety bonuses, etc. most mechanics and pilots work a
7&7 or 14 & 14 schedule. The Sikorsky S-92 has a crew chief that flies with it during the day. The rest of the
mechanics work at night from 4pm to 4 am. They put you up in nice company housing or near base motels while
your on your work hitch. There is plenty opportunity for advancement. We are the world wide leader in the
civilian helicopter industry. We have an oil and gas division and a air med division that covers Hospitals all across the U.S. I don't know what they pay but all you got to do is make a call. I can tell you this, I make
$25.00 an hour and I take care of one of the facilities, Mechanic pay is going to be MUCH higher. Another thing,
we fly very nice , clean, well maintained air craft. S-92, S-76, AW-139, Bell 407. Some people don't like being
away from home for 7 days, but most of us love it. I work at the Morgan City Base, 5 minutes from home so i'm
pretty lucky I get to go home every night. A lot of the guys are from Texas, Miss., Ark., Fla.
Give them a call and see what they got to offer.

Jimco, Iv heard of PHI, would rather work for a company like that, but i gotta hav that a&p first. Rite now im tryn to get my fixed wing pvt pilot license n when i can find $30,000 laying around, im gonna get my commercial rotary wing. Iv gotta get my instrument rating too, but with work, i cant do it bc the intermediate flt n advanced air nav classes r during the day n i cant pop smoke from work n go to mid day school. Im tryn again to sell my gn trailer, once i get it sold which i hope really soon, im gonna try n buy a c-172, iv got a litter of pups thats fixin to go ip for sale too. Once the pups r sold, im gonna pay for a flt instructor to get his instrument rating instructor class ($2000) and have him sign me off on instruments. Once im instrument rated in commercial rotary n pvt fixed, plus the a&p, it opens SOOOOOO many more doors, but to enter them doors, iv gotta hav the flt hrs but cant get the hrs if i cant fly for a living n cant get enuf hrs if im paying $600hr outa pocket just to go play around n shoot pigs from the air. Iv got goals, but them goals r for a very wealthy man, but NOT outa reach if i sell all but my soul n may even need to sell it.
