I was planning to buy my wife a new car when I get a decent job in about two months. The car was nothing special just a Hyundai with almost 150,000 miles but it worked. I know they won't offer me much for the car. If they will pay me up to the value and let me fix it. I bet I could sell the seats foor more than they offer. I have a number in my head and if they offer that or more I will take the money. If they try to low ball me I will call a lawyer I know. Normally this would be too small for a good lawyer but he said he would help me out. But how long will that take?

Hunger is a great motivator.
I'm all for helping those that need it, its the one's that can but refuse to help themselves.
The welfare DEFINITELY needs an overhaul. And the color of skin has NOTHING to do with it, majority of people here on welfare are white.
It ain't the color, its what you put on the application. ;-)

Exactly. They really need to step it up, and do some checking on all those applications. It's kind of like a group of siblings that were all about the same age as me in school. All the way from pre-school til the day they graduated they had reduced lunches. But always had the nicest things, and all four of them got brand new cars when they started driving. And I'm talking escalades and 350z's not a Kia. Somehow though they get reduced lunches and all that kind of stuff, but a kid wearing clothes from goodwill, being raised by a single mom getting by on the bare minimum couldn't get any assistance cause his mom made to much. How the heck does that work? All these gov't assistance programs need an overhaul.

I had reduced/free lunch between 1-5 grade, when my pops started working at the local foundry (thank goodness) he made to much, which he had already stopped the program bc he knew he would make more than enuf to support he and I. it was a good system for the needy, but it is being abused. iv had to use food stamps when I was doing industrial construction bc jobs in my area was scarce for heavy construction, but like Hamilton said, trying to cancel it was like pulling teeth from a hungry lion, but unlike him, I kept the card, let it build up till they canceled it. an honest man barely can get help when needed but when it rarely happens, they atleast do the right thing and cancel it once back on their feet but the freeloaders are ruining it for ALL honest folks, crackers includes.

If a person wanted an easy tax cut...I'm talking tax paying citizens they should just get on food stamps and buy groceries for four or five other hard working tax payers.Might as well It's not going to stop or be reformed or anything like that until it all comes crashing down. five people could get a extra hundred a month tax cut. every dollar a tax payer gets back from it is a dollar a lazy obama voter won't. It's patriotic if you ask me.Or just get them for your self. give yourself a tax cut It's just like dealing with insurance companys which I do every day. The principle of the thing means nothing. It's knowing the system and calling something thats obviously one thing something else cause they will pay for it if you call it that.Go ahead give yourself a seven hundred per month tax cut.Soon their wont be their won't be nothing left for the mooches. just a suggestion. this is intended for educational purposes only and should not be tryed it is a crime. but it would work if you did.

To me food stamps and nice stuff says drug dealer. You obviously have money and the government don't see it. So you are gettiing it from somewhere not legal. You can get nice clothes from Salvation Army but not a nice car. Then those dumb rims, how much did they spend on those? Now I ain't talking color of skin I am talking about trash that comes in every color. Then they are teaching their kids to do it too.

Dub, if you will pm me your address and what size shoes your boy wears I'll send him a new pair...

Sometimes you gotta get your priorities right... A decent pair of shoes cost about the same a bag of dog food..

My boy only has rips in his tennis shoes. I will get him new ones on Friday when I get paid. The point is that I can't just run out and go buy a pair of shoes. It is about priorities and my boy needs to learn to take care of his stuff when he ain't paying for it. When that boy wants a new anything his old one either breaks or gets ripped. It just ticks me off that he does that. So he can walk around with ripped tennis shoes in the summer. Then you have these people coming in with food stamps wearing brand new $200 tennis shoes or whatever they cost.

If I paid the same price for shoes as I do a bag of dog food my boy would not wear those shoes. I get a bag of food for around $20 and shoes are about $60 even though he wants the more expensive ones. I knew June was going to be a real hard month because I had to spend money on school. So I went and got dog food and people food to last the month. There was no money for anything extra. It sure would have been nice if I could have got free food for a month. But give me three months and things will be good for my family. Why? Because I get out and work and make things happen instead of cheating the system. That is my real point. These people think they are getting ahead but three years from now they will be exactly the same. If they had to go work for the food they would get promotions and raises and then they would be in a better place in a few years. Plus they would feel better about themselves. I think the government uses welfare to keep poor people poor. There is no motivation to do anything better as long as the family has food. But remove the food and there is motivation to better yourself. If your freezer is full do you care about getting food. But when the freezer starts going low you get out and fill that freezer back up. Then you find out how much fun hunting is and you want to do it more. Then your freezer does not get empty. But if your freezer is always full someone may just sit around and watch TV all day. Then they need healthcare. So the governnment needs to take care of the healthcare. So then those politicians get re-elected so they have food and healthcare. So then the politicians have jobs by taking money from the people that work so their voters can sit aroundwith free food in the freezer and free heathcare just to make sure they always get those votes from the people that have no self worth.

Haha... Putting it that way, I'd make him wear them too!!

From the way I read it was they were just so worn out they had holes... I ain't one for telling people how to live, but I can't understand how some complain about not having necessities but feed dogs, always have cigarettes and beer, etc etc...  ESPECIALLY if the family needs something...

The shoe depot has some decent brand name shoes for $20 believe it or not...
When times are hard you cant be too picky...

Good luck on your job... Hope it gets better for you...

A guy who was a wealthy business man told me he had a talk with the shoe carnival founder once on an airplane, this was in the early nintys. The guy told him that regardless of the brand name on the shoe the cost off the ship was 3.00 or 4.00 a pair.

I would believe that. Unless they r advertising american made but made in the lands of rice n raw fish, i'll pay the higher price to keep americans employed instead of a bunch of foriegners, thats till i find out them shoes r made out of the united states. If it comes down to it, i guess i'll just hav to run in boots again, wont b the first time.
