Couple pics of a breeding project I'm working on. Breed my Dane/pit to 2 different females. First litter doing good. Around 2 years & 75lbs. Second litter the pups are around 4 months old and 35lbs. Trying to get the Dane/pit bred to one more quality female(preferably a bird/bull).  3 different breedings will allow me to mix them back and forth. Trying to get a 75lb athletic, straight catch dog with a good winding nose for hunting smaller pieces of property.

I really like your idea. I bet you get some really awesome dogs. If you can get all of those traits in one dog, you will have hit the jackpot!!! Man I really hope they turn out for you.

I like the way your thinking on your breeding Buddylee, that should be a pretty unique dog when you get the breeding done. How do you like your Dane/Pit cross? I've been talking to a fella in Georgia about the bird/bulls sound like a good rough cross.

The older dogs are ok. Gotta get them on more hogs. I sent one to Texas and he's kicking butt. Bird bulls are good for areas with good hog populations. Found a bird/bull pup yesterday. She's on the small side. I would like to breed her to my Dane/pit one day. I decided to breed some thing similar to the Australian bull Arabs or Dogo's.

Yes sir, sounds like the crosses your doing are leaning towards the bull Arabs, I sure like the looks of the arabs. I was thinking of crossing a hot blooded greyhound to a pit and have a fast RCD to hunt the peanut circles but thinking and doing are two different things Grin

He is either a bull/ bird or a bull/ cur. I don't know. He's got a hell of a nose and tons of prey drive. He will
bay the big ones till help arrives and will catch anything smaller. He didn't work out for us in the swamps and
marshes so I sent him to Mississippi to a friend of mine and he is making one heck of a RCD. He's filled out
and muscled up somewhat since this pic.
