I don't run a cut collar on mine. Never have. You need to worry about the dog getting gored by the antlers.

This was the second time this dog got gored. Pokes are superficial but still scary. Dog had deer bayed in some thick stuff and javis scared buck and broke.

Main thing I would think would be real bad would be a poke to the body cavity... I imagine that would be a hard fix.

Our dogs wear garmin only,  they're pretty good about circling one when they need to.

Don't want a catch vest, too hot and an issue is the buck ends up in a tank with dogs in tow.

Go to hardcorehogdogs.com you can order what he has r if u want it costume made they show you how to do it online, only thing with costumizing is that if it don't fit they don't take them back so make sure u measure right r just get a small med r large my Alapaha wears his med and it fits great. We order all our vest with 2 layers of Kevlar and never have had a pass thru extremely light weight , dependable and gets hunted all year long on my catch and rough strike dogs.
