well, decline a job offer with more money n accept work for less $ bc I wasn't happy where I was at. show up to work at 7 this morning, had our morning meeting n headed out. do a s/n check on all the acft, accounting for all acft on the line n match it up with what the customer says they had still on site. get the numbers, take them to the lead, lead says 2 other guys n myself need to be at the office in 45 min. I go get the other 2 n we show back up. remind ya, first day of work with the new incoming company, 5 of us are handed out our lay off notices. wow, what a freakin day to start the week off, hell for the month. on 31 jul, gonna gather my box up, take it hm and go to Houston, drop $3000 (that im hoping will materialize out of thin air) on my dang a&p n c where it will take me. to make matters worse, the place where I left was 1 person over strength n 2 of us left n 1 person filled the position to even it out. guess I wont be goin back to work for the dutch anytime soon.
n a good note, there is freeloader who don't have to work, sit on their butts, drive around on their 24s with a blunt in 1 hand n a malt in the other and I still hav to pay for it, or I didn't run across a politician on my way home. I forgot, r they 5 or 10 point for hitting them with ur tck?

Dammit Charles, I sure hate to hear that! shoot me a pm if there's anything I can do to help.........I don't know what kinda money you were making and im not 100% sure if by moving your box back to houston you mean you are moving back to houston but if so let me know. I'm pretty sure I could get you hooked up with a plant contractor job quick fast and in a hurry.

naw Justin, I nvr lived in Houston, but that is where the a&p school is and all I need for the school is $2400, pen, pencil and myself. Im not gonna ask my wife to give her sequestered job up again like I did while I was in the army so im lookin at headin back across the pond to Iraq or Afghanistan for 6-12 months. im gonna draft a letter to every tx state politician that works in dc and gets a free ride off our tax money and see if they can explain why we loose money n jobs bc they cant budget our tax money, we hav to feed house their last a$$es, pay for their plane rides to n from dc, but yet they keep their jobs, lie to every day and grin all the way to the bank. since I know right from wrong, I would go on a hunting safari and, well ill leave it to ur imagination. do they have a saringetti in dc? I hope so, maybe them snakes up there will get trampled by a heard of wildabeasts n take I rhino horn where the sun don't shine.

Well if things stay on track, i'll be goin to houston /spring the 28th for 2wks to get this dad-gum a&p license. Hopefully a couple wks after that, i'll be on a plane to iraq or afghan for a 90/30 rotation. Only work 9 mths a yr n get paid for 12. Hopefully this state dept gig pans out better than this ft hood gig. I figure a yr or two over there n i'll hav my house, tck, car, tractor n 4wheeler paid off, get me a small airplane n come home for a long while.
Jimco, do u work at the laffyette location for phi? If so, do they have a good size runway/landing strip there?

No, I work at the Morgan City field base. The Lafayette facility is located on the Lafayette Regional Airport.
Delta flies 737's in and out of there. On a 7 & 7 sch. like we work, we work 6 months and get paid for 12.
Plenty of opportunity to work over on your 7 days off if you wish.

oh ok jimco, yea I couldn't find an airport except for the 1 in Patterson, and my sectional said there is a lot of helicopter traffic. is there a way u can get me the majority of the facilities that have aircraft at them please? if possible, I would like to see about flying in instead of driving, if I would be aloud to do that if I was to go to work for phi. if its in the Houston area, im not allowed to go into that area bc of the type of airspace, unless I fly below their rings.

PHI Morgan City is about 10 miles from Patterson Airport
PHI Houma is on the air base in Houma- small planes in and out
Thats the only ones I know of on or near small airports. You will still need a vehicle to get around and back and forth to motel or company housing. There are guys from Texas, Alabama, North La., Florida, Miss.
all working at the base I work at (Morgan City) . They all make the drive every week. Every one seems to like their jobs. They ALL love the 7 & 7 work schedule. You put in 80 hrs. in 7 days so you are still getting
paid on your 7 days off.
