I got a call from a lady off of our "free wild hog removal" sign. She doesn't have wild hogs tho... Instead she has 2 Yorkshires and 2 Hampshires that she can't afford to feed anymore. She said they are 300-400lbs. I plan on going to pick them up... Who doesn't like free meat right? Question is do they clean like a wild hog but with more fat? Any special peeps to make? Or should I just take them to the stock yard and have free money, over free meat?

Man that sounds like an awesome deal!! Either way, some good viddles OR chingos of $$$$!!!

I have to laugh though... hopefully that woman is correct on her sizing! We got a phone call Saturday morning from an older gentleman who had trapped "3- 100 lb hogs and one hog that was staying around the trap." He wanted to know if we'd come get em.  We said HAIL YEA!!!, we're down to make a buck!!!

Well, we went out there and this is what we found...

Meet Butch! To be Butchered sooner or later... and two more good puppy trainers... all in all 3 Hogs that put together weighed about 160ish.  HAHAHA!! Gotta love it!

When you going to pick them up???

Pickin them up this Friday I'm hoping. She is supposed to send a pic today or tomorrow so I can judge the size for myself lol. I mostly want to make sure we aren't going to get some skinny, sick pigs. Hoping for a quick turn around on 2 of them. The other two will sit for a couple weeks in a pen. But like you said, either way you can't beat that deal.

They aren't three or four hundred but they will surprise you. I worked at a slaughter house for a while and still do some those are great slaughter size. watch the hams when you roll the hide or you'll cut into em other than that they are the same as wild

10-4, I figured when she sent the pic they were about 1/2 the size she said... We shall see but they should eat good for sure

T-bob, I got that ol Hamp more than likely going to a fellow hunter as a breeder. I'll have to reap a little bit of benefits off that one. I got a new 1700ac place with quite a few hogs on it... Funniest thing tho, it buts up to my back yard fence

It'd be nice to catch some listed pigs right out the back door ;-)
