yes doctor the cuts with whatever you use and you can give the gyp some anti-biotics  pennacillin or ammoxocilin .  the anti-biotics wont harm the pups . I all ways give my gyps a round of anti-biotics after whelping . and then chain up your yard dog  . females are all ways defensive around other dogs after whelping  .

well generally if she can get to them and clean them let her . but put her on an anti-biotic so no infection sets in . it is all ways a good thing to do after whelping .

My female BMW had pups and during the Fourth of July she was scarred of fireworks and cut her face bad trying to push the tin off the roof to get away from neighbors popping fireworks. Vet said to give her penicillin and my pups are fine.

the vet gave her penicillin but with her having puppies and the fight tring to defend her pups she was really weak had sum cuts all over her just about drained couldn't hardly get up to use the bathroom. so took her to the vet they said infection was starting in from the dog bites so they kept her overnight and we are bottle feeding them. hopefully tomorrow when she gets back she will be able to nurse the pups

damn I sure hate to hear that..........post a new thread and see if anyone has a gyp thats nursing right now that would let you at least put a couple pups on to ease your load.........I know I have seen it work on here in the past, maybe you will get lucky. sure sorry about your dog man.

Go get a tube for your pups & feed them that way. Each pup only takes a few seconds.

Get it from your vet & he can tell you how much to give each pup.
