Anybody on here like to trap? I'm bout to get into it for fun and gonna try out the ztrap dog proof coon traps. Looks like they work real well. Anyone ever use them? Gonna use regular steel traps as well but I'm new to them and haven't been able to catch anything in them yet! What do yall usually do with your coon hides

dec 1st to jan 31st is trapping season on coon . these ol texas hides aren't worth messing with anymore [ money wise ] learn how to tan hides and make stuff out of them and sell at the trade shows and fleamkts . be sure and buy you a trapping license if you plan on trapping and selling . the coon cuffs are nice and you wont be catching anybody's hog dogs in them . go to texas trappers assoc. web site a lot more info from folks that do it everyday on there .

I got lots of places around the house. And halfbreed I was wanting to tan a few and just try my hand at it. I heard it was good trapping in there easttex

the coon cuffs are the way to go . just remember that wherever coons are coon hounds are there also , unless you are trapping on posted property . coon cuffs are considered the dog proof traps . just be aware that dogs are or could be presnt when you set your traps and I allways tried to makes sets where a mans coon hound would have a hard time getting into them . i'm talking about the larger leg hold traps the coon cuffs can be set anywhere . I use to run my hounds on the same places I trapped and never worried about the hounds getting caught due to trap placement . hell been so long since I set a trap lol mine were old rusted up double springs that had been around for years [ victors ] # 2 I think .

haha yeah. The ztraps I'm getting are dog proof. I'll post a pic of them. I may try the cuffs as well. I'll be trapping on private property mostly but some in my lease. My dog got caught in a steel trap here while back behind my house in the lease there. |

Im a big fan of the duke dogproof traps...the the best bang for your buck...not only are they well put together/strong but they have the toggle release system so it doesnt take much grabbing on the trigger for them to fire...I like trapping with either #3-4 with offset jaws and fully modified...I can put you in touch with my trap supply dealer that is really awesome an will be more then happy to "talk trapping"

does he have a website? I bought one of the duke dog proofs today, but the crossfire ztraps look like a step up from them. Has a two way trigger and better stake system. I'm new to trapping not too good with steel traps yet. We have lots of yotes and bobcats around I'd love to trap one |

William bar field sales snares for coon coyote bobcats hogs. He builds roll cages live traps an sales differs other styles of traps. I bought a roll cage from him. His number Is (972)932-2213 he was setting up at canton when i bought the cage from him.

bought it in Silsbee at feed store for 17. Online they are 13 But the thing is the shipping is 6-8 bucks. So it's actually cheaper to buy them in Silsbee unless you buy four at a time. I've looked online every where for free shipping and there ain't none. |

Silsbee farm and ranch. Right behind the movie theater. Great place for dog food or anything really. Traps, leads cut collars, vest collars, dewormer all kinds of stuff
