One of my catch dogs I've noticed the past few weeks she has been losing weight and her stomach has bloated up and lost muscle, I've wormed her with .87 ivermectin 150 pounds 3 days in a row and still no loss of bloat, and my buddy gave her some of his wormer. What could be going on? Twisted gut?

If it were gastric torsion, aka bloat, and it's been three days, she'd be deceased by now. Other issues that cause a distended stomach aside from intestinal parasites are cardiac issues, fluid in the abdomen, etc. May want to take her in for a fecal, some bloodwork, or an abdominal radiograph.

Mrs.Louisiana hog dog is spot on. I recently got a gyp that had a rough coat and a bloated look to her. Worming  didn't fix mine either. I start all my dogs on the same probiotics  that we feed our horses. It's  called fast track. It comes in a five or ten pound sack for about twenty bucks. It's  the best thing I've ever done for my dogs. This particular dog shed the gut and the dead hair. Another young dog was always shaking her head and scratching because of allergies. No more of that. My old dog was bred to a female and I got one pup that didn't make it. Since the probiotics block I have bred him twice more. The first gap had five healthy pups and the second had nine healthy ones. My girlfriend had some really well bred older mares given to her that the people couldn't get bred. Three months of fast track and all of them were bred. If the gut is right, everything else usually falls in place. So many of our dogs get antibiotics bred in hog hunting that it sometimes gets the gut really out of wack. The fast track will get it back to right

I use the same on horses, but never on dogs. How much do you give a dog? By weight?

I give about 0.5 ounce per dog a day. That's half the minimum for a horse and the upper end dosage for sheep and goats.

The bag says to give each animal x amount. It doesn't dose them by weight. Hope that helps.

I would guess heart related. Fluid is causing the swelling. JMO
