No right or wrong answers.....just give YOUR honest opinion on what you'd pay.

BMC
1 year 7 months
Has never trashed on varmints....will bump a deer if he gets bored. If he looks at a cow...1 call off is all it takes for the rest of the hunt.
Leggy and Fast....will suck a runner up in open terrain.
He doesn't burn up the woods but he won't miss a track either.
Hunts the same...with or without a running partner.
Walking or Roading he is Short range (0-500) if he gets outside 500 and you haven't heard a bark....you will.
Medium to loose baying on a rough hog but will get tight and sit one down if its soft. Will catch with another dog if the pigs not to rank. Only catches by himself on 75lbs or less.
Good Bottom....unless he just gets smoked he will stick for miles.
No dog or people aggression....good handle.

If you needed a dog and this one interested you...how much would be fair to you?

Well are you going to show the dog hunt in the woods or do we just have to take your word for it.

If I needed a dog I'd have no problem giving " YOU "  6 to 8 hundred for him because he's pretty much what
I want in a dog. He would fit my needs.

Lets say the dog was shown in the woods and performed as described.

Of course you'd pay what you thought the dog was worth...so with this dog...what's he worth?

I'd probably pay between $650-800, but could see paying around a $1000.

He's young, finding his own, and got good bottom.  I'd pay more if he was used as more a track dog or casted alil harder.  And it's worth alot to me to know the background of the dogs in him.

Still a 1000 to me because he is from proven cowdogs and working dogs.  If he is from neither hog are cow dogs proven families he ain't worth a dime to me but that's just me.

it would be nice to have seen pitures of your dog but from what you have described of it the price you put on it is what ever you think its worth. remember what ever you decide you need to stand by it

Proven or unproven, it doesnt matter, every ped starts out unproven. It depends on the seller as far as showing the hunt, but i would agree with jimco n ba-iv quoted is NOT an unreasonable price.

Nah...Fonzie...I straight up took a chance on this pup. I did some research (after I saw his potential  Wink) Made some calls...talked to some people that owned his grand sire/Dam.......He has NOTHING in his pedigree in regards to hog dogs and no big names as far as cow dogs go.

I do agree with terry too bout keepin n huntin him, but if in a bind for cash, 800-1000 would b a fare price to ask n not unreasonable to pay

KevinN

Let me explain what I meant when posted about the worth of the dog.  To me as a breeder of a line of dogs I could not use a dog like that because of his unknown type of bloodline.  I could not cross into him without knowing for sure who was who in that dog its just a chance I myself would not want to take now does that mean the dog cannot produce great dogs no it doesn't it just means its a big chance when a breeder goes out on a limb and does those kinds of things.  On the other side of it as a breeder of my own kind of dogs myself I have had young dogs that do what you decribed he is doing at that age so in my postion as a breeder of dogs I could not use the dog myself and am sure some other breeders of dog lines might feel the same way  .

But that is not to say he is not worth a 1000 bucks to someone who is just a hunter of good dogs and not into the breeding part a lot of folks could care less and just want to hunt and have a great dog .  Now if that were me for sure the dog is worth a 1000 bucks if he is doing all that was stated if I am not a breeder of my own kind of dogs and have my own  .

That's what I meant when I said he would not be worth a dime to me not that the dog was worthless because doing what he is doing he is worth a lot .

and then on the flip side of the flip side of that LOL The dog may end up being one of the best dogs in the world and end up producing a whole line of great dogs .  You just never know but the dog has the first part of it down with being what he is right now at a young age that's a great sign and the other will be seen later on in his future.

Its like Rolling Dice man !  LOL
