Kennel blindness .
I have seen a few good dogs. By a few I mean three or maybe four. That is out of the 100s I have seen hunt. Most people don't know what a good dog is. not saying that I do but ........
My dogs leave a lot to be desired to myself. I know that and will openly admit their faults. Seems people always talk about breeding this dog to that dog. What they need to be doing is digging holes.  Shocked
The internet is filled with long range. Super star dogs . Some of the ones who talk about breeding non stop are the ones who I really don't think even hunt much let a lone have decent dogs.
Looks like someone is getting called out .

I've hunted with Jordan, I believe, 3 times. The first time... We caught this sow. Jasper was about 9-10 months old and really didn't do much on this hunt...but it was a turning point.

2nd hunt was f'd up like a soup sandwich. Too many dogs and some of the dogs there were trashy as hell. Killing armadillos and possums all night....never even got on a hog.

3rd hunt we caught this nice sow. Funny thing is I wrote the story... Posted it... Told Jordan about it and ASKED him if it was fairly accurate.

Now...correct me if I'm wrong Jordan.....but I do believe You were DRUNK when you made this post last nite. Maybe your memory has failed you or maybe we just have a differing recollection of that last hunt.

Although Drew was there on all 3 hunts I'm not gonna ask Him to get in the middle of it because you two are friends and he and I are friends. I'm not gonna put him in that position. I will say this....if he WANTS to comment about it, that is fine by me and my feelings WILL NOT be hurt if he recalls it differently.

Now on to the pic of the caught Boar.

You weren't on the hunt....You don't have a friggin clue about what happened there. The only people on this hunt were Drew and I and my girls oldest son. Again...this story is posted. The dogs present were Jasper, J.P. And Jinx, and CD Zeus (my dogs). Whistler had his Buzz dog and I believe Jewell's was on this hunt as well. I don't think he had a CD old enough at the time. Jasper and Buzz took off at the same time and came bayed at almost the same time. Who struck it? I think it was Jasper...could I be wrong? Possibly. Again...I actually want Drew to comment on this one.... Won't hurt my feelings at all. I mean...honestly...it Doesn't really matter to me.... It was some excellent dog work. They had that boar bayed for 45 minutes easy before JP and Jinx got there and then they caught.

Oh...as far as Jasper trashing on deer...hell, I will tell you flat out he trashed on A LOT of deer when he was young,10-14 months or so. Now...not so much. He may bump one but he won't run them anymore. At least he hasn't in ages. On that hunt last Wednesday he jumped 11 deer (they just kept pouring out of the woods, lol) as we were getting close to the truck and he didn't run them at all....just watched them bound away.

Anyway....that's about all I got.

First of all i've been at work all night. And you never told me about the story on that sow that you wrote and evidentally it was false if its saying Jasper struck it. And I doubt I was told a lie on the hunt on the boar hog. And yea we have only hunted a few times because of your dog running deer. I had nothing but young dogs at the time to and they were started off good before my old dog passed and i didnt want them picking up bad habits from Jasper. I dont get on here very often, just mainly to look at the stuff for sale or to look at the pictures of the hogs. When i came across this it irritated me that you was taking our dogs credit. And yes i do like to drink. What do you expect from a 24 year old single man. Im pretty sure a bunch of men liked to drink at my age and still like to drink how ever old they are now. And i do remember the first hog because you tried saying they were barking at cows and i told you my dogs dont bark unless they're looking at a hog and thats when we caught that sow.

Goodness...  I for sure dont want to be in the middle of this but i guess its to late.  Its hard for me to remember because both of these hunts were over six months ago.  The big sow i believe if i remember correctly there were several dogs in the area when jordans gyp started yipping and within minutes there was a short bay all the dogs. They ran her in front of us and bayed up again and we caught her.  The one with me and Kevin and the boar hog. Again if i remember correctly they were both working together and bayed within seconds of each other. They held it bayed for a while for us to get there.  Kevin was nice enough when i first got my pups to reach out and help me start them in a pen and go on several hunts when they were young and i am very grateful for that.  We didnt have any good dogs just pups so it was difficult.  I met jordan and he let me tag along and he had a dog that was jam up that trained one of my dogs and three other young dogs that are all finding hogs today.  I really dont care who's dogs do what im just glad when i catch a pig. I have not hunted with kevin in months and yes when jasper was young he would bump a deer. I am sure he is like my dogs and everyone else's with age and experience those things are corrected. Again I dont want in the middle of this.  My wife is having contractions today so hopefully i dont have time to get on this the next couple of days.

Guess I better be more careful from now on....don't want to be "one of those guys". Think I'll only post stories from solo hunts from now on.  Smiley

To be honest solo is the only way to be sure what dog did what. One dog on the ground. Then there is no doubt. When hunting with others to me the dogs get the credit. Not a certain dog. If there is more than one dog on the ground the only way to be remotely sure is if all the dogs are one way and one dog the other by himself. I don't care who u are if ur dog is where the hog is found regardless if there are 3 dogs with him it's human nature to think ur dog started the hog or stopped the hog. This goes for the owners of each of the 4 dogs.

Don't get caught up in bull. Enjoy the hunt and give all the dogs credit on a job well done.
