Any advice? My Rednose Pit got out of his pen yesterday, And well, first place he went was, of course, my bay pen.  I have 4 sows in it, smallest around 150ish to biggest around 250ish and they HATE dogs. Well, idk what happened but when i got home he was laid up in one corner and sows on other end.

Hogs had a few cut ears, one had a limp, so i figure he done his thang and they got tired of him real quick. They banged him up pretty good few small cuts, few missing toenails, an some bites. He's tough an he got what he wanted...an more  Cheesy

But my biggest concern is a cut on his lip. Its on his bottom lip, Picture your bottom lip cut in two and thats about what it looks like. maybe a good inch. I've been soakin his feed so its soft and He's gettin 2.5cc of penicillin a day.

Should i have it sewed or let it heal itself? I'm not real sure on this one, thanks guys.

One our dogs cut its bottom lip, we just left it lie and it ended up healing up but staying open. Much like a cleft lip. You can only see it when his mouth is open so we don't mind. But if you're worried about the way he'll look you may want to think about sewing/stapling it.

Yeah i beleive its gonna do like you said and heal open. No biggie he's got plenty other cuts to go with it.

*i did find out how he got cut there. I found the spot on his pen where i thought he got out an patched it. Later that day I was next door an heard a hog squeal. I thought not again, We'll he developed spider man skills and climbed out. But anyways he was cathin on the top jaw, the whole time he's caught the sow is steady bitin his bottom jaw.

His cuts a lil worse but i solved the problem, 2 sows are in the cooler and 2 sows an 5 piglets gettin released on hunt club tomorrow. Now i Know why people dont like havin bay pens close to home. Too big of a headache, everytime i let a dog out the pen they always make a b-line straight for it.

Having a hog at my house is a blessing and a curse lol, very convienent to work pups but like u said any time 1 of my dogs get loose thats where they go. Once we are on our bigger spread i plan on building a couple acre bay pen.....until then hogs wont stay around here long.
