I bred my two AB's a while back and this was the result. I was hoping to get a peewee jr. Tink had three girls and two boys. I figured i would show them off...

Im ignorant in the american bull dog breed lol, but i believe it is somewhat of a breed standard with ab's.

I docked the tails yesterday. I dock them because i think they look better docked and they are my pups.

Some of the reasons people dock tails are.

Breed standards.

They dont like being beatin with a huge tail when the dog wags it.

A docked tail cant knock your beer over to easy.

Tink had a condition called happy tail and it cost Mike a little chunck to have her tail removed a couple years ago.

If it didn't cost money and didn't take a vet visit, I'd dock all my bulldogs tails and have their voicebox removed  Evil

X100, ur dogs, ur choice on docking the tails. when i used to drink, i had numurous beers knocked over bc of tails and my current house dogs tail knocked over anything in the reach of her tail. Them r sum good lookin pups travis.

Bunch of junk....you should just knock em all in the head!!!!  Grin

I prefer my AB's tails docked for the same reason Peaches mentioned, hits me in the nads, they will beat them bloody in a box, knock stuff over ect. Seems like less trouble with out them, I believe the standard prefers tails over non tails but these ain't show dogs neither!!!

Looking good Travis,

Looking good Travis,

You are right on the tails underdog, docked tails are acceptable but considered a cosmetic defect
