Hunted Saturday morning with Ty, Matt, Andy, Jenny and Brody.  We had a great time hunting a new place.  Dropped dogs early and hunted close to water.  Early in the hunt, Ty and Matt had their dogs on the ground when we turned a corner and nearly every single one of my dogs in my trailer and 4-whlr winded something and started going crazy.  Ty and Matt's dogs got birdie and hit the brush.  I dropped 4 of my help dogs on the ground.  Not long after, Ty and Matt's dogs come out and mine open up.  Bay breaks and the race was on.  We met up with Ty who was back on a road and Ty lets us know that my dogs were running a Red Stag.  No wonder their dogs came out! I'm still confused why all my dogs went that crazy over a deer when they have never acted that crazy about a whitetail.  My guess is that a Red Stag may smell more like a hog but that’s only what I can guess.  We finally get my couple dogs off the trash and continue to hunt.  Stopped off at a water hole to let the dogs drink and then continued to hunt.  Put some fresh dogs on the ground and got a bay soon after.  Bayed up in some thick yaupon briar thicket, which made getting to them pretty slow.  Cut the bulldogs loose and caught the first good little boar.  I broke my bulldog off and we heard my JJ and Crow dog hammering 60 yards away.  Made our way over there and cut my bulldog loose.  When we got to him, we could see my bulldog caught good on the ear but we also saw a lot of cutters coming from his mouth.  Ty and I both were wishing we had another bulldog.  JJ and Crow had already got cut and my bulldog was getting tossed around pretty good.  The curs were working on him pretty good and I found a chance to get in there and leg the boar.  It was such a tight spot that I was glad that bulldog stayed caught.  Everything turned out real good.  The cuts on my curs and bulldogs aren't too bad and we got both hogs out alive.  It was my first time to hunt with Ty and Matt.  Hunting sure is enjoyable when you can do it with good dogs and fine company.  Thanks to Jenny for taking all the pics!
