A simpler vulnerability. Have you ever lived through a hurricane? Days or weeks without electricity shuts down a city.
All the U.S. military would have to do is take control of the power plants. No electricity ... no economy ... no computers ... disrupted communications. Then they simply eliminate cell phone service. Whoa!. Big impact to everyone. If they controlled the major interstates they could effectively shut down not only commerce but the access/delivery of food, fuel, medicine, etc.
The battles, if any ... the disruption ... would be here, not the rest of the U.S. We tolerate wars (Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan) to some degree because they weren't/aren't fought on our streets. That would not be the case.
We are a lot more vulnerable than they are.
Exactly my point. I see a government getting so big and controlling that people are bowing down in fear of retalliation.

And many of the things that grate on people today originated under them. Frankly, state politicians aren't much different than federal ones. It is musical chairs.

If your a Texan, dont count on using the TX Army Reserve units. Reserve units are Federal units; National Guard is State "owned".

not exactly. if it were 100% state owned, it would read" texas army", not US army on the uniforms and equipment. the state guard units are federally funded just like the reserve units, but big army allots X amount of $ to the state, then it is up to the state move the $ around to the units as for reserve units, they dip right out of big army's cookie jar. the state does allocate money too, but the bulk of the money coms from the federal government.

The US Govt is not going to give Army Reserve Units, equipment, and facilities to a state. Wont happen. Guarantee it!!! Another point is the Army Officers have Federal Commissions, not state.

This just contradicted your previous post of guard units being state owned. ALL commissioned officers are federal commission, including guard units. Another federal ownership to guard units is who pays the soldiers, they are paid through DFAS (defence finance accounting service). And yes, big army gives the states equipment and weapons, beans n bullets n so forth, just like puerto rico, they r not a state of the union, but a territory but they dont hav to pay federal tax, but yet are funded n supported by the US, but dont have to help support the same government that shells out millions to every yr, which is another prime example fraud waste n abuse if our tax dollars.

Yea i read that n im telling u that soldiers and officers in the state national guards ARE federaly funded n commissioned. I was in the texas army national guard and on my uniform, it says US ARMY, not TEXAS ARMY. The soldiers all get their pay from dfas. Ur contradiction is ur clain the army officers are federal officers, but every branch of the armed services has commissioned officers, who are commussioned by the US. congress, including the state guard units. The state does NOT own the guard units

Charles, Im not going to argue with you. It seems like you always stirring up something and arguing with somebody on here. I was a Commissioned Officer and I know what a commission is. My point was to those in TX that think if they try to become thier own state, dont think that TX ARNG and US Reserve Units are going to be there for TX to use as they wish. ARNG and Reserve Units are not going to be fighting wars for TX.

I feel sorry the soldiers that were under ur command during ur officer stay in the military.

All time record in Football Texas leads 59-43-5 All time record in Baseball Texas leads 139-51-2 In Men's Basketball Wikidpedia says OU leads the series 48-35 but Texas is 8-2 in last 10 meetings In Women's Basketball Texas leads 21-13 But..... I guess the success of your college sports in the last few years is all there is to be happy about if you live in Oklahoma
