I got a new silage field yesterday that is absolutely torn up so I decided I wanted to go make a run last night. I called up my friend Josh and told him to show up at 8:30 and we loaded up 4 dogs, my catch dog josie,  my reba dog, and josh brought two young cat gyps. We pull up to the field dump dogs and get out and walk into some of the wreckage the hogs have caused and it isn't two minutes before the dogs bay up 50yds from us, I release josie and it breaks right before she gets there, it breaks and runs 300 yds and the bay dogs bay up again with josie on her way there, josie hits and the fights on, I take off on foot busting through the thickest silage I've been in all year, it takes me about 5 minutes to get there, but all that is left is josie laying on her side not moving, joshs two gyps come flying by me about the time reba starts hammering down 80yds away, I pick josie up and carry her 70yds up close to the bay and stand her up, she could barely stand up straight but I new I had to catch the hog before they all started getting cut so I release josie and urge her in there, she gets there and swallows ear and I'm right on top of them to grab the hog, I leg it and get it stabbed pretty quick and take the vest off of josie and get her out of the field to some cool air and water. It was a quick but action packed hunt for me!
