I'm getting two 8 month old female plotts that are Dollin bred. Does anyone know some about the bloodline and how they've been bred to hunt?
Thanks!

The ones I've seen were large, leggy, and long eared. They had loud bawl mouths. I've known a few guys who hunted them in wisconsin and the U.P. many years ago. Both those guys treed a lot of bear. They seemed to have a little colder nose than the style plotts i was hunting. I never hunted with the dogs personally but their owners sure liked them.

Leo Dollins started his dogs & linebred them off of Brandenburgers Pioneer Jake. He was a bear hunter, I want to say from Michigan. Most of his dogs were on the large side with cold noses & bawl mouths like said above.

they are bigger dogs like my nimmer, cold nosed and smart. Not many people like the bigger style, I have great success with my bigger dogs who go back to the pioneer blood but are not dollins.
