I pity the fool that shoots one of my dogs. I would absolutely lose my mind. Unless my dog showed aggression towards the person. Which I know my dogs would not do.
You say that but let a stranger come towards you in the woods at night your dogs might surprise you.

This is why deer season is off season for me on hogs. Gun season last almost 2 months here. I deer hunt and get my honey do's done as much as possible so when season goes out I can play.

Story ending.... they settled out of court and it cost the man $5000. $2500 for lawyer and $2500 for the shot dog

Yes sir, BUT from what I understand the same man had another one his dogs shot and got $1000 for that dog a few weeks back? Not sure how true that is, but if it is sounds like a lack of ownership and care to some extent

You say that but let a stranger come towards you in the woods at night your dogs might surprise you. I've had a game warden hiding behind a bush and my dogs did not react. But they are animals so anything is possible.

i know each state is different but here in california a dog can be legally shot for chasing any animal wild or domestic if the dog is not owned by the landowner.
