All these contests are being held on the same weekend???

Come on folks, TDHA has always been the first weekend in March. This is just hurting the turn out for all three contests.

its obvious that either one of two things is happening here, 1. they don't give a damn, or 2. they had no idea about the TDHA tournament, but I think It would be best if the others reconsidered there tournament dates, the TDHA is a BIG Part of dog hunters, jmo

The TDHA board of directors greatly appreciate the support we are receiving on this board in regards to this matter.  Hog Dog contest have become a very big thing here in Texas as you can tell and a lot of them are set up for a good cause.  Every year it seems like there is some law put out there that hurts the TDHA contest.  All we can do is continue to fight the fight and do our best.  I am not saying TDHA is the answer to the problem of law makers and anti dog hunters but i would like to think that we faught for all of us down to the last bill.  I myself spend no less then 2 hours a day on TDHA business and i have no problem saying that goes for all BOD's and advisors.

We only have so many weekends a year to get all of these contest done, so we understand contest may get over top of us.  We just want to thank everyone for there support and hope that we can have a good enough turnout to keep TDHA going.  Mr. Mason as well as the others who started TDHA had a great vision and i hope it continues.
We wish everyone good luck on there contest and that also goes for the ones that have decided to have there hunt the same time as TDHA's.

Think about how many hog hunters are out there and think what force we are if we all rise together and fight.  This is one of my favorite stories posted by Mr. Mason a long time ago.
"This is a story about four people named, EVERYBODY, SOMEBODY, ANYBODY and NOBODY. There was an important job to be done and EVERYBODY was sure that SOMEBODY would do it. ANYBODY could have done it, but NOBODY did it. SOMEBODY got angry about that, because it was EVERYBODY'S job. EVERYBODY thought ANYBODY could do it, but NOBODY realized that EVERYBODY wouldn't do it. It ended up that EVERYBODY blamed SOMEBODY when NOBODY did what ANYBODY could have."
So very true.

Mike, thanks for your support and this boards.  TDHA has had the first week end in March reserved for the hunt and the Expo center reserved for that week end.  We post so all can see that once again we will have it the same week end and it's all for the dog owners and dog hunters, we are the only active group that attends the Law Making in Austin each and every year to inform all about what is going on.  You might not like me but I stand for your right to use dogs in hunting all types of game.
Also this is a give to the needy event and this year will have a chrildrens dog show on Saturday.

Big thanks to all that do support.

To set the record straight i know about the TDHA Hunt and if you would like go back and look at all the dates, this is the 6th annual hunt every year ours has been the last weekend of February first of March. We do this hunt this weekend cause of the lodge thats lets us hold the hunt there and its not gonna change!!! Our hunt goes to support local kids and scholarships!!! So for everyone that has nothing to do with either of these hunts i would suggest that you dont say anything!!! We have been doing this for 6yrs now and have never had a problem till last year and this year so yall mite want to go back and check dates and see whos been scheduling on top of who..... We do this to help kids and for the Granberry family not for the glory....... So just quit all the crap.........

dlangley,

As no one knows we have spoke in private and we complelty understand the timing of ya'lls hunt and reason behind it is for a great cause.  TDHA wishes ya'll a great hunt. This is our 9th year and our hunt will always be the same time as well, for as long as we can keep having it. I think its different when the corporate world is trying to make a good buck off Hunters and against an organization that is trying to help hunters.  Not your case at all.  TDHA faces adversity daily in the fight against the anti's, so a little adversity in our hunt to raise money is a small portion of it all.  We will just try to put on a great hunt, give great prizes, and keep on moving forward.

Los Casadores had 37 teams only pay 3 places so money is good. I personally would like to see them pay more places but we were 4th so go figure. There were a few problems one failed test. Top 2 teams were tuff 900 lbs or so. We won big sow 211 lbs. I think they want to do better. I will mention something's and not depend on Somebody or Anybody. Oh yes lost by 4 lbs that's 1 lb per pig! Maybe LC will call Tdha next year. I know they did not set date till late.

TDHA hunt is always the first week end in March and has been for the last 9 years.  This week end is when the Expo lets us have the building.

We had 46 teams and paid 5 places.  Hope Matt will post up awards and places, Would be interesting to see.

I sure hope so. The Pigman group has passed up the chance to support Dog Hunting in the past, sure hope they see the light next year.
